So you're saying Swanson is having the better season? That's fine.... That's different than saying ONLY Swanson is having a positive impact to his team. What a flaw crap way to say only the Cubs made the right choice. This is irrelevant to the article, I'm talking solely about Batman saying only Swanson, "other than Turner the last month" has had a positive impact on his team. That's ok, I don't expect anything less from Batman, after all Wisdom is the same player as Chapman, ask him, but he's ok with a Wisdom DFA now ha fWAR 3.9 2.6 1.9 1.2 These are all positive impacts for their teams, which other than Bogaerts, they are all currently in the postseason. Just stop , you get lame when you're owned. I've been saying I wanted Wisdom gone well before the season started so I've ALWAYS been ok with him being DFA'd . Explain to me how Abreu and Vazquez have had a positive impact , maybe their presense , not their performance and I don't think you'll find anybody , not even his mother satisfied with Correas performance this season. How has he helped the Twins be in first , you come up with something and tell me and if I'm wrong I'll acknowledge it. Turner had also played like shit up until recently and yes Dansby has had his ups and downs and dry spells as well , but it's not apologizt bullshit to say he's probably been the only one of that group who's been anywhere near what you could call a good signing so far.

Owned? You sound like a child.... move on already. The Cubs did everything right, everyone else did everything wrong. Even though you wanted Turner, Rodon and Abreu this offseason. Oh well.
Stop lying about Wisdom, just stop. You said he's the same as Chapman, just move on with that nonsense already

Stop lying about Wisdom, just stop. You said he's the same as Chapman, just move on with that nonsense already It's not hard to look up the old posts , and everybody else on here knows I've been saying this about Wisdom, so it's no lie. This is how you work , somebody makes a comment like I did saying Chapman has basically turned into a Wisdom clone with the bat the last couple seasons meaning piss poor average and obp and a lot of K's. YOU twist it to me saying I said he is the same as Chapman even though I clearly said with the bat ONLY and his last couple seasons with the bat, so is he worth the price for a slight upgrade because he hits doubles too . And guess what , it wasn't me saying it's a good thing or me liking Wisdom , I never liked him much and said time and time again he's not a guy I want or see being here when they are getting serious about winning. I can try to bump up my past comments, but then you'll just ignore it so it's a waste of time, everybody else knows I don't like the guy so me wanting him DFA'd is about as old of news as you saying the Cubs won't contend until atleast 2026.

He’s kind of a more projectable version of Wisdom’s bat, but you’re getting a very similar offensive player there: big power and big strike outs. But defensively the guy is a machine and game changer on that side of the ball. There would have to be some understandings for me to buy into him as a real welcome addition to the ‘24 team, and that’s primarily seeing Mervis cement himself as the everyday first baseman carrying a plus bat, as well as finding offensive improvement in LF and DH (wherever those come from), but I could see a world where Chapman makes sense for us in an otherwise weak positional player free agency market. Batman66 said : At first I loved it , and thought you were crazy comparing his bat to Wisdom , but I guess I have not been following him close enough lately to notice that that he's become Wisdom like at the plate, low average and OBP. He is a big upgrade on D and him at 3b, Swanson and nNico would be a very tight infield but I'm not sure if he'd be worth what he'll be asking for . I'm not against it though on like a 3 year deal.

Didn't steve mention that the cubs would ONLY add Tucker Barnhart this season and wouldn't be competitive until like 2026? Weird to want to argue so much when you've said some pretty quirky things yourself. "move on already"

"move on already" Trolls don't have a conciense He's not a troll , he's actually a very good poster and valued member of this and the old board. I just don't happen to see eye to eye with him on a lot of things and don't care for him putting words in my mouth or twisting what I said. If we all agreed on and about everything this would be a very boring board.

Just look at link. THE worst has to be Rendon , great player when healthy , but he's always been an injury risk and I said from the get go that that contract was dumb. Angels have already paid him over 128 million of that contract in the 4 seasons he's been there , he's played a total of 200 games for them so far and they got 22 homers and 111 rbi's out of him and they still owe him 115 million more

Since 2020 he has pitched 31.1 innings & made 140 million dollars - or 4.5 million dollars per inning pitched. Damn!

True , forgot about him and the kicker with him is that his contract actually ends in 2026 when he will be 38 years old , but then there is this, he still gets paid after the contract is over , lol .......... ($11,428,571.43 annually) is deferred with 1 percent interest, payable in equal installments of $26,666,667 on July 1 in 2027, 2028 and 2029, plus interest payment of $3,999,974 on 12/31/29

Damn.. Speaking of Strasberg, I am reminded today of being in Cleveland in 2010 and I was at the game when he made his major league debut. They were selling Nationals Strasberg t-shirts as he was being hawked as the 2nd coming and this was in Cleveland. I remember what a big deal it was. He had a decent career, but certainly not great or even HOF worthy. Once again a reminder of how you just cannot predict the career of prospects no matter how promising it looks.
