Also his recovery is going very well too, which is great to hear.

It would be very stupid to trade him now... If they were one or two pieces away from a championship, then maybe. But they're not. Better get what you need in the offseason.

Everything is bad and the Cubs are terrible and I'm going to assume they're in a tail spin that they cannot recover from while the Cardinals simultaneously start to play .900 baseball.

Again, I never said that. I had the Cubs winning between 92-98 games, which 92 is not far fetched now. They even have to play above .500 to do it. And had the Cubs winning the division, so why would they need to recover from something? Winnign in the playoffs is a different thing and until they prove they can win a couple of series against the elite teams with this team, I don't think they can do it.

Winnign in the playoffs is a different thing and until they prove they can win a couple of series against the elite teams with this team, I don't think they can do it. Would you consider the Nationals an elite team? The Cubs are 5-2 vs them this year. Would you consider the Pirates, who were the second best team in baseball last year an elite team? The Cubs are 8-1 against them this year. Would you consider the Dodgers an elite team? The Cubs re 3-1 against them this year. And it's not like they've been getting destroyed by elite teams. They're 4-5 vs the Cardinals and it took a Cards 3 game sweep to get that record. The Cubs were 4-2 vs them. They're 5-2 vs Arizona, as well. You know well and good that the Cubs are going through a slump that EVERY team goes through, but...you like to be negative, because apparently, like you said on cubs.com....Latinos are always negative about sports (we're not). Fact is, the 2015 Champion Royals lost 15 of 24 from September 1st to the 29th. The 2014 Champion Giants lost 16 of 23 from June 9th until July 4th. The 2013 Champion Red Sox lost 9 of 11 from April 30th to May 14th. Face facts, the Cubs are slumping, not a bad team. Dress it up with any words you want, but you're a pessimist who HOPES for the worst so that his eternal pessimism doesn't make him look like Debbie Downer.

Well if this is 100% true then I just dont see how Soler is not traded because there is no place for everyone to play

Great to hear that. I know the Cubs aren't doing well but it's part of 162 game schedule. If they don't go to or win the series this year it'll be fine. They're going to be a power house for years to come and Schwarber is going to be part of that.

I said this team, not the team that was playing for the first month and half of the season, the team that is 27-26 in the last 53 games. The team where Fowler, Zobrist, Lester, Hammel, etc. are getting back to earth and not playing well above their heads. They are leveling out and playing close to their career averages. The team that have lost the last 5 series against winning teams. This team. Even with the rookies playing well above what's expected of them they're losing a lot, specially against winning teams.

It's nice that you believe that, I hope the FO doesn't, or they might trade Schwarber for bullpen help. I'd rather keep the window open with a great chance next year and beyond, if they get some help in the offseason, than overpay before the trade deadline this season.

And at their level, I still have to see them beat a winning or two in a series.

I'm not expecting anything but for them to level out on around their career averages, that's what I said.
