Bryant on a tear in July, another HR and 2 more doubles, I believe his OPS is over 1.000 now since he returned from injury, looks to be healthy now.

Good to see him healthy and playing better but I'm sure when the rockies signed him they were hoping for more than 4 homers and 12 rbi's at the end of August

Dylan Cease is having a Cy Young type season for the White Sox. He's 10-4 with a 2.03 ERA.

In typical Bryant fashion, Bryant came up twice, late in the game, with the game on the line. Once with men on 2nd and 3rd (Strikeout) And then, with 2 outs in the 9th and Bryant representing the winning run... 27th out. Bryant's Homer yesterday was the 1st time he's Homered with a man on, since Aug 26, 2021. He has not Homered with multiple men on base since Sept 26, 2020 RUFKM? That was when he entered the final week of the Season with 5 RBI. Time Line? After that Homer, the Cubs announced that Brailyn Marquez was being promoted. He's grrrrrrate... Until you need him to be. $26 Million this year and then 6 more years. What a difference maker. If only we had signed him...

Last season he started to show he was for real and this season he's been excellent. The game changing from expecting 6-7 innings out of a starter to 5 was a huge thing for him.

Odds are very strong that KB has and will accomplish much more than any prospect you obsess over.

I can't speak for 2 miles , but I think the comments are more about some people feeling the Cubs would be in a much better place had they extended these guys that are still butt hurt over it not happeneing when it's looking like in reality they'd be no better off if they did because most of them have been NOWHERE near worth what they got. I loved KB , I was one of the people who wished he'd be a career long Cub and he's a huge part of my best memories of my 50+ years as a Cubs fan but if he's not living up to a contract why sugar coat it? When I do bash him like I do a bit of in this thread it's not because he's an ex Cub , I had some of the same concerns the last few years, lack of clutch performance, lack of being able to stay on the field and play healthy so it's not sour grapes, it's reality of what it looks like he has become and it's pretty much looking like they'd be no better with him .

If only things never change. But they do, don't they?Odds are very strong that KB has and will accomplish much more than any prospect you obsess over. I'm not 2016. My name is 2022... 2016 left you... Years ago. So, stating facts is trashing Bryant? On that, we agree! Bryant cannot escape facts. BTW, I obsessed over Bryant too (and Javy & Jorge & Addison & Willson & Albert), when they were doing the same things that our current prospects are doing (only, these guys are winning too, which the core never really did in the Minors)... And I caught the same kind of shit you just spewed. We all (Believers in the plan) took shit. So we went and got our own Board.

updated numbers
Rizzo 22 hr 57 rbi's .221 avg .337 obp .820 ops decent numbers but highly iunfluenced by the short porch RF in Yankee stadium I believe 8 of his home runs would be outs in Wrigley
Bryant 5 hr 14 rbi's .300 avg .367 obp .846 ops swinging the bat well this month and hopefully can stay off the IL
Baez 9 hr 36 rbi's .217avg .260 obp 542 ops 42 k's in 165 pa's wow 260 OBP ...embarrassing, he still is making El Mago plays though and still having words with Garrett
Schwarber 30 hr 59 rbi's .205 avg .313 obp .811 ops 124 strike outs in 403 pa's ...leads in homers but that average and OBP are horrible
Kimbrel 3,97 ERA 36 games 34 innings 35 hits 49 k's 14 walks 17 saves ... a little better as of late , but not what they expected
Darvish 9-4 in 189 starts 3.28 ERA 115 innings 89 hits 109 k's 23 walks ... having a very solid bounce back year
Chafin 2.73 ERA 35 games 29.2 innings 23 hits 35 k's 9 walks 1 save ....solid as usual
Tepera 4.08 ERA 36 games 35 innings 25 hits 28 k's 13 walks 1 save .....
Trevor Williams 2-5 in 18 games, made 8 starts 3.43 ERA 57.2 innings 53 hits 54 k's 15 walks 1 save .....been a valuable pitcher for the Mets this season
Marisnick 2 hr 6 rbi .234 avg .272 obp .661 ops ... finally healthy and playing just in time to probably get traded again
Pederson 17 hr 43 rbi's .247 avg .334 obp .830 ops has cooled off a lot but started in the all star game

"swinging the bat well".... I mean, he's scotching hot in July, but ok...
Bryant July: .339/.403/.662/1.064 with 5 HR, 6 doubles, 10 RBI in 72 PAs.
I've learned this board would prefer to see the ex-Cubs that help win a World Series fail vs succeed so they can say, "see, no need for an extension", meanwhile the Cubs are the 5th worst team in baseball with no light in sight LOL

Hey one more and he'll have as many homers as Nico does this year . Do you think the Rockies envisioned when they signed him for 182 million that on July 25the he'd be tied with Yan Gomes in homers ?

Just another ungrateful fan for 2016, pffffft Look at Rizzo's home run chart , there are 8 home runs in Yankee stadium that are not out of Wrigley, not hater stuff, just fact so his 22 is just a we bit padded becauseof where he plays. Bryant is playing , a WIN in itself , mashing , sure 4 solo homers .111 with RISP ....... Javy is still making great plays , just a downer with the bat . The others, I did make positive comments for the guys doing well in but you are too focused because I only said Bryant is swinging the bat well and not mashing . The guys that are not doing well , sorry man , I'm not going to sugar coat it just because they won us a WS in 2016, I very grateful for their time as a Cubs , I'm just not going to give them a participation trophy for the rest of their career for it, Let me ask you this , right now , today , do you feel the Cubs would be any better a team with any one of them signed long term and still on the Cubs?

Rizzo is having a good year.
But there's nothing wrong with pointing out that he's hitting .214 (.307 OBP) on the road. Or stating that his OPS is over 100 pts lower on the road. Or pointing out that he's hit .167 / .234 / .222 in the last 3 Months. Or that he's hitting .167 since the All-Star break.
By the Month, Rizzo has hit 9, 2, 10 & 1 HR. That's the Rizzo we all loved. Nothing wrong with saying it.
It's ok to present the bad, as well as the good.
