Back in the good old days of my youth, when the baseball regular season began in mid-April, and the World Series ended before mid-October. The really good news was that it was early enough in the school year that certain baseball fan teachers that I adored <RIBBHeaven Andy Leahy> actually let the games (and they were day games then) run in the classroom (though only classrooms in the new part of the school had televisions -- and they were tiny and black & white).

Willie Davis was a good ballplayer. I am surprised to see the 3 errors. I probably saw it at the time, but I don't remember it. Bob Gibson was just a beast in 1968 (well for many years), but especially that year. Wish we could see more pitchers like that now, pitchers that owned home plate.

Edgar Martinez got a bad rap for being a hall of famer as a DH. He absolutely deserved to be in. One of the best pure hitters ever. The DH thing made him just a victim of circumstance. It's not like he wouldn't have played everyday if there was no DH, you find a place in the field for a bat that good.

Travis Wood! What a game that was. Who woulda thought we only would advance past the nlds series because of our pitchers bat skills? Can thank Jake as well.
I remember having a bad feeling. Thinking of how ted lilly slammed his glove down that one time, and i was losing hope fast for our 2016 playoff run. It wasnt looking good for a minute, them our !@#$ pitchers come up with big hits and help us advance and get to the the next round, where i heard some other good things happened 😉.
