Looks like college football is out for next season. Lame (but understandable).

Just for the Cardinals.. Most all other teams seem to be able to follow simple directions. I expect the player from the Athletics that charged the dugout and also the person on the Astros that incited the action to be severely disciplined. How 'bout that too? It's just baseball being baseball. But magnified because of the times. Ever wonder how brawls would go if everybody who left the bench was suspended automatically? We'd see who the tough guys were, then. Back to Astro's hitting coach, Alex Cintron. This fucking guy. Supposed to be a leader and mentor. Baiting a player into a confrontation and then hiding behind players. After his pitcher obviously threw at a batter (the 2 players were traded for each other). Now there's a tough guy. Yes he is & I think with the mic's being able to pick up absolutely everything that he's going to get suspended almost as long as the player from the A's.. I just dislike everything about the Astros right now.

Per stltoday.com no new negative from Yesterday’s testing. If Monday’s testing show no new negatives the Cardinals will be allowed to practice.

cards just gonna have to option out rest of season. noway are they gonna be able make up all these games. The next game still scheduled for the Cardinals would be on Friday. That would start a 3-game series with the White Sox in Chicago, followed immediately by 3 games against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. If instead there are more cancellations, I don't see how the Cardinals can remain viable in 2020. In fact you may right that they should just admit to being done already.

Whatever is happening, Shildt was quoted as saying a number of his players are having symptoms all over the Covid spectrum which entailed some emergency room treatments. One person I know well said Covid is the worst thing he's ever experienced in his 49 years of life. He recovered, didn't need hospitalization, but he's only at 75% strength, has no stamina, poor balance, and he just doesn't feel "right." I don't wish this thing on anybody, even a Cardinal.
I don't see an easy answer for how to handle the extended layoff without some unpopular and/or unfair "solution" to the scheduling.

They should of had teams have an A roster and B roster and the B roster is at the teams alternate sight . And in cases of an outbreak where a team A might have to cancel a series because of multiple positives the B roster takes over so all we have is a series canceled at most and not be put on hold for a week or now weeks.
Then when the A roster is cleared they step back in.

Looks like MLB is going with the 2nd option, though I think option 3 should have been put in play immediately (batman's option in previous post). Sadly, to compound their other errors, they exposed some of the B players to the A players. Now for my snarky anti-Cardinal fan put-down: I was surprised the author found so many Cardinal fans with multi-syllabic vocabularies. (Sometimes a b**ch gotta b**ch -- my excuse is that I spent 16 long years married to a Cardinal fan). p.s. Almost didn't recognize you Clark Street!

No update today. If they do not practice tomorrow I would think Friday’s game against the White Sox would be in jeopardy.

They should start with a doubleheader vs White Sox, followed by single game, doubleheader vs Cubs, followed by single game. That would at least get them started to get back on track. If they can't field all their best players.... OH FUCKING WELL.

cards just gonna have to option out rest of season. noway are they gonna be able make up all these games. Sounds to me like they are likely going to reduce their number of games as the best option and go with winning percentage for the playoffs. Wouldn't surprise me to see the cardinals get in the playoffs with fewer wins than another team that should go. I would guess they will do everything possible to keep them involved in this thing. Cubs need to keep winning and one other team in the Central needs to win a good amount to keep the cardinals out.

Cardinals are waiting for the results of the last 2 days of testing. If they get the ok they will practice today and tomorrow and play on Friday. If they have any more positives, who know what will happen.

Derrick S. Goold@dgoold Based on comments from #MLB Manfred to @stltoday today is a milestone as #stlcards try to distance themselves from outbreak, return to play. Depending on Tues confirmed results, would be at least 3 days since new positive, two weeks since first positive.
