Derrick S. Goold@dgoold #stlcards schedule remains fluid at this point -- a return to the field for workouts is still the next step. In addition to the reported doubleheader ( @bnightengale) Sat vs. #WhiteSox there are plans for a doubleheader next week at Wrigley to make up at least one ppd #Cubs games. Friday Cardinals at White Sox reportedly cancelled.

Jordan Bastian Retweeted Anne Rogers@anne__rogers Lane Thomas is the one confirmed positive test today, Mozeliak said. The rest of the #STLCards tested negative over the weekend. The total number affected in the organization in 17. ******************************************************* It's my understanding the Cards brought up players from the taxi squad/alternative site and they practiced together with the rest of the team on Thursday. So this whole group was exposed. If the Cards start on Thursday they will have to play 55 games in 46 days. Are they TRYING to sabotage the season?!?!?! It seems that way doesn't it?

Cards schedule will be as follows:
Sat vs. WS(DH) Sun vs. WS Mon vs. Cubs(DH) Tue vs. Cubs Wed vs. Cubs(DH)
Mozeliak confirms: Top prospect Dylan Carlson is being promoted to the big league club, as well as Seth Elledge, John Nogowski, Ricardo Sanchez and Rob Kaminsky.
#STLCards are scheduled to resume play on Saturday with a doubleheader vs. White Sox. Those who have been quarantined the past week (the Major League roster/coaching staff) will drive individually to Chicago in rental cars Friday. One bus will take those coming from Springfield MO.(BTW 9 hour bus ride)

Are they TRYING to sabotage the season?!?!?! It seems that way doesn't it? According to the Cardinals, they practiced individually. They haven't had 2 players on the field at the same time. 5 players called up - 5 players removed from active roster. Mikolas has been placed on the 60 day to make room on the 40. Molina & DeJung probably won't clear protocol to play all 5 games. One replacement already out. One starter identified as possible and quarantined for Sox series. And they're opening in Chicago against 2 clubs that are stacked and waiting. BTW: Dylan Carlson is a stud. Another pain in the ass for years to come.

Cubs/Cards to play 3 doubleheaders to make up for missed games, all at Wrigley Field. Aug, 17 and 19th. Also Sept. 5. Cubs will be the home team for Game 1 each time. Cards for Game 2.

I get why they're going this route, but I think I'd rather they all be in the same place so they can guarantee nobody breaks protocol. 41 cars makes for 41 opportunities to get off track during the 5 hour drive, and they've already shown questionable judgement, even after teammates came down sick.

Here is the complete reschedule:
CHI @ STL • The three game series between the Cardinals and Cubs, which was originally scheduled for August 7th-9th at Busch Stadium, will be rescheduled as part of three doubleheaders at Wrigley Field.
• Each doubleheader will consist of the originally scheduled game at Wrigley, as well as one make-up from last weekend’s scheduled series. Since the make-ups are Cardinals home games, the Cubs will be the home team for Game 1 of each doubleheader, while the Cardinals will be the home team for Game 2 of each doubleheader.
• The first doubleheader will be played on Monday, August 17th beginning at 5:15 p.m. (ET)/4:15 p.m. (CT).
• The second will be played on Wednesday, August 19th beginning at 2:20 p.m. (ET)/1:20 p.m. (CT).
• The third will be played on Saturday, September 5th beginning at 5:15 p.m. (ET)/4:15 p.m. (CT).
STL @ PIT • The three game series between the Cardinals and Pirates, which was originally scheduled for August 10th-12th at Busch Stadium, will be rescheduled as part of two doubleheaders.
• The first will be played on Thursday, August 27th at Busch Stadium beginning at 3:15 p.m. (ET)/2:15 p.m. (CT). This was a mutual off-day for both Clubs and the doubleheader will make up the games from August 10th and August 11th.
• The second will be played on Friday, September 18th at PNC Park beginning at 4:05 p.m. (ET)/3:05 p.m. (CT). The Pirates will be the home team for Game 1, which is the originally scheduled game, and the Cardinals will be the home team for Game 2, which will make up the game from August 12th.
MIN @ STL • In an effort to create an additional off-day for the Cardinals in September, the two-game series between the Cardinals and Minnesota Twins at Busch Stadium, scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th and Wednesday, September 9th, will now be played as a doubleheader on Tuesday, September 8th beginning at 3:15 p.m. (ET)/2:15 p.m. (CT).
The postponed doubleheader between the Cardinals and Detroit Tigers, originally scheduled for Thursday, August 13th, will be rescheduled at a later date.

In other words, some extremely optimistic person is planning for no rainouts, and no more Covid for Cards or ANY team on their schedule. Good luck with that.

Yeah, I was picturing this drive from STL to Chicago. They will all probably stop once for a bathroom break, maybe pick up something to drink, or a lunch, or both. A lot of potential for exposure even if no one does anything wrong.

Turds came out firing today. 4 so far off Golito in the top of the first in Game 1.
