You realize that the players were not going to talk if they werent promised immunity right? What did those players say?
Nobody here, was there. We saw who walked. We saw who didn't.

Karl Ravech@karlravechespn Comissioner Rob Manfred tells me “We are playing. The players need to be better, but I am not a quitter in general and there is no reason to quit now. We have had to be fluid, but it is manageable.”

There is no chance this season finishes. We've had two separate team outbreaks in a week. Just no chance.

Manfred said today that still has not plans to cancel the season and the players need to do better. He will not cancel the season
Is it in the best interest of the owners for the players to opt out over MLB canceling the season?

Not really two seperate, we have had the Marlins which is a legit outbreak and we have STL which for now is 1 player , 3 coaches and I dont think at this point something to freak over unless it continues to grow rapidly.
What is interesting to me is the Marlins played the Phillies so they were in close contact ,but so far they are good .... that is a good sign that this can work.

Update from MLB
The following is information on the recent positive test results in Major League Baseball:
St. Louis Cardinals: After two Cardinals players tested positive, the entire team was tested in Milwaukee yesterday using a rapid COVID-19 test and saliva samples also were sent to an MLB laboratory. The rapid tests indicated that one additional Cardinals player and multiple staff members may be positive. The results from the MLB PCR saliva tests will not be available until later in the day. Based on the results of the rapid tests conducted in Milwaukee, tonight’s scheduled game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cardinals at Miller Park has been postponed. We will provide additional updates as information becomes available.
Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies games this week had been postponed out of an abundance of caution because the team played the Miami Marlins, a Club which has experienced numerous COVID-19 positives. The last potential exposure of Phillies players and staff to the Marlins was on Sunday, July 26, and no Phillies players have tested positive for COVID-19. While three Phillies staff members have since tested positive, it appears that two of those individuals’ tests were false positives, and it is unclear if the third individual contracted COVID-19 from Marlins players and staff based on the timing of the positive test. The Phillies are scheduled to resume play against the Yankees in New York on Monday (details below).
Miami Marlins: The Marlins’ remaining players and staff have been quarantining in Philadelphia since Sunday and have not engaged in any baseball or other activities. The Marlins reported no new positive test results in yesterday’s collections. The current plan is for the Marlins to resume play against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday in Baltimore (details below).
Other Teams: There were no positives reported yesterday from any other MLB Club.
Schedule Changes: The Yankees and Phillies, who were originally scheduled to play four games against one another this past week, will play a four-game home-and-home series beginning with two games at Yankee Stadium on Monday, Aug. 3 and Tuesday, Aug. 4, followed by two games at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday, Aug. 5, and Thursday, Aug. 6. (all game times TBD).
The originally scheduled game between the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field on Thursday, Aug. 6, will be rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, Aug. 8. The remainder of their four-game series on Friday and Sunday will remain as scheduled.
The Marlins and Orioles, who were originally scheduled to play four games against one another this past week, will play a four-game series this week in Baltimore from Tuesday, Aug. 4 through Thursday, Aug. 6, with one day including a doubleheader (all game times TBD) and the Marlins serving as the home team for two games.
In addition, the originally scheduled games between the Phillies and Marlins from Aug. 4-6, as well as the originally scheduled game between the Yankees and Orioles on Aug. 5, will be rescheduled for a later date.
MLB will continue to follow a conservative approach in addressing positive test results because the health and safety of our players, employees and the public at large is paramount. We are in daily contact with the Players Association, public health officials, and our own medical experts in order to make decisions that will best protect individuals from being exposed to COVID-19. We will continue to provide further scheduling updates as necessary.

There is no chance this season finishes. We've had two separate team outbreaks in a week. Just no chance. Biggest losers would be the Yanks, they appear to be the most complete team and probably would win it all this season, I don't care what Dodger fans say lol

I don’t care what the commish says. The plan is failing absurdly. Miserably. They can’t keep this up much longer.

They just need the personnel to do a better job of being careful / responsible. The extra 30 players “should” keep all of the teams able to play if they can avoid another “Marlins” situation. We’ll soon see I guess.

I don’t care what the commish says. The plan is failing absurdly. Miserably. They can’t keep this up much longer. MLB is getting a lot of crap lately regarding their plan, especially in light of nba and nhl bubble successes. But both of those leagues have less teams, and less players on each team to account for, the bubbles would be massive. Imo the plan would work, if people took proper precautions. This is looking more and more like its on the players for their actions off the field. Some cardinal players chose to play golf at whistling straits Thursday, just hours before positive results came down. That course requires caddies, so potential close contact. Now playing golf is generally considered low risk and obviously they didn’t pick it up there, but it indicates that not all organizations are approaching this situation with the same amount of caution, and if just one person on a team breaks off on their own it can ruin everything. We’ve heard talks from some clubs that they go from the hotel to the ballpark and nothing else on the road, but clearly not everybody is abiding by the same protocols.

I’m happy that the Cubs are a great example for the league, but they shouldn’t be the exception, they should be the rule.

It’s next to impossible to control these guys & if they put too many restrictions on them the union can complain & stop it. I am getting tired of hearing how Manfred is responsible for messing this whole thing up when he can’t control how these guys act at all..
