Wiggins signed for $1,401,500 The Cubs now signed all 20 draft picks Very impressive! Is it unusual for a club to sign all their draft picks like that? I feel the Cubs have been pretty successful in that area for awhile now but have no idea if other teams are as well.

Not unusual but I'd say maybe 3/4 the time they sign their top 10 picks (slot money kids) because teams take chances on picks 11 to 20 & sometimes go overslot.

Teams usually take some gambles after the first 10 rounds or so and take flyers on trying to lure kids with strong college commitments by paying them over slot. I think I read this morning that there were only 6 players who were drafted in the top 10 rounds that had not signed yet, and at that point Wiggins was one of them. The Twins still had not signed their first rounder.

Wiggins signed for $1,401,500 The Cubs now signed all 20 draft picks Very impressive! Outstanding news!! Good jobs guys but way to make us sweat (as if we needed help doing that today).. Scouts anticipated this kid being a lock for 1st. round next year which explains his hesitancy to sign but I am really glad he did because next years draft is said to not be very deep at all compared to this years. Very risky move for Wiggins to wait until next year. What if he arm does not respond well from recovery? it is not a guarantee you come back from TJ better than ever. Codi Heuer is a fine example of that and Brady Aikens is another.

That is true to a point but if we could find it I would bet that the recovery percentage has to be in the 95% range or higher because TJ is now looked at as inevitable in most pitchers careers.
