Final NL WC Standings WC 1 Padres 93-69 +4.0 WC 2 Braves 89-73 WC 3 Mets 89-73 D-Backs 89-73 … Final AL WC Standings WC1 Orioles 91-71 +5.0 WC2 Royals 86-76 …. WC3 Tigers 86-76 Cubs 83-79 Cards 83-79 WSOX 41-121 Add the Dodgers, Brewers and Phillies to those 4 NL WC teams, the Cubs are going to have problems making the playoffs without major changes. These teams have better talent and many are willing to spend the money to get better.

So if the Mets win they play the Padres. If they lose they play Milwaukee. I wonder if they're considering Milwaukee the lesser opponent, closer to home too. They are already in, so..... Something to think about , but they were 1-5 vs the Brewers this season and 5-2 against the Padres The thing about this though is that the Padres weren't as good when the Mets swept them in May. I believe they were under .500. Padres took 2 of 3 in August. I think the Padres were the tougher matchup, but the Brewers are tough too.

It was in June and I thought about that too , the Padres team they beat wasn't the one playing like they are now , but the Mets weren't playing that good up until that time either, they went into that series 30-37 and the Padres were 37-35. The Mets didn't seem too concerned with winning that second game yesterday.

Either way I think the Brewers and Padres advance I don't know , the Mets seem to have a different vibe about them this year , they've had a lot of roller coaster games like the one they pulled out yesterday and Lindor seems like he's on a mission now so even though I don't want them to advance it would not totally shock me to see them in the NLCS. I hope the Padres win it all , and I hope the Brewers make another quick exit. I'm kind of hoping for a Guardians or Orioles vs the Padres WS just because they are teams I don't dislike. But it might not be as thrilling to watch because of the lack of huge star power like a Yanks and Dodgers series would be. As much as I hate LA , How can you not want to see Ohtani playing in a WS ?

I can not want it a lot. I wish the best for Ohtani but the worst for the Dodgers and the latter wish is far more emphatic for me.
