"Like Judge or Soto - but their team is only better than the White Sox over the past month so that guarantees nothing as well.." What this mean? The Yankees are 62-45 are you trying to say the Yankees aren't good? LOL No, what I’m saying is that there is no guarantee that having 1 or even 2 superstars doesn’t guarantee success. It takes a whole team coming together to have success. They are SIXTY TWO and FORTY FIVE what are we doing here? No, what's happening with this comment is trying to show why it's ok that the Cubs don't do it. Again, I'd rather be 62-45 today, but hey.... I'll stick to this being the trade deadline thread

But ever since May they are 4 games under .500 Yankees record in June 14-13 July 8-13 And then he said what I knew EXACTLY what he was trying to say..... thanks though

What was the point of it? It just sounds like another "superstars don't guarantee anything" post, yet I'd argue the Yankees are 62-45 because if Judge and Soto. The Yankees also went 4-2 in the middle of that stretch a few weeks ago. They're 7-7 of their last 14 games. 2-0 over their last 2 games. What are we trying to show here? That teams go thru rough stretches in a 162 game season? I'd rather be 62-45, but ok. 2 teams last 2 months take a guess who they are 22 -26 23-26

Parades is only 25 years old and they just locked up 3b. He’s a good player. This is a really good move IMO. The DH spot is now wide open By the way... this is me "slamming the Cubs any chance I get"

Man you have issues interpreting text.

The team that is 62-45 , that looks great and it's awesome to be 17 games over .500 right now , but that team doesn't seem to be the one playing now, that team vanished in May , the last 2 months they've been just as bad as the Cubs despite Judge and Soto being healthy and mashing . You need more than a superstar or two or three

Nothing guarantees nothing, but are we really doing this again?

Nothing guarantees nothing, but are we really doing this again? Funny that "this" tends to happen when you misinterpret what people say.

Again, I'd argue they are 62-45 because of Judge and Soto. Nothing is guaranteed though, sure!

Nothing guarantees nothing, but are we really doing this again? I thought you were returning to the "Deadline" discussion?

Well let me help you then , I can't speak for Fine , but I think he was commenting on somebody saying the Cubs still need a 30-40 homer slugger , so he mentioned the Yankees have two of the best and they are still currently struggling the last month , but it actually goes back even further than he mentioned.

The only one putting their overall record into the conversation was you. So, that's how "we got here". I think the OP's saying that the horrible Cubs could beat the immortal Yankees, today & in the Playoffs. And thus, could beat any team. And thus, we shouldn't quit.

I think the Cubs are done. I really don’t see anything else out there.

I think the Cubs are done. I really don’t see anything else out there. Think they trade 1-3 relievers. Hopefully get rid of one trick pony Leiter and Smyly/Neris. Think a team will have to overpay Merryweather just based upon his pure stuff.

Cubs fall back to six games under. Not sure what we are waiting for with the sell off. Jed is too passive and accepting of mediocrity. Depth and value are his buzz words. Clear the glut.
