Talk about a Bauer outage (his twitter handle)

That surprises the heck out of me.. Bauer said last week, how is it an issue when 2 consenting adults agree to have rough sex “again”.. Not anything I would choose but if they were consenting as was confirmed by both parties then how can this be a suspendable offense? No police charges after the investigation means to me that MLB just considers this situation as embarrassing, not illegal. I think he wins the appeal if it is decided by an outside party.. I think Bauer is a tool , always have so I'm no bias fan that is going to stick up for him. But how he and his partners decide to have sex should have nothing to do with his baseball career unless it was in the teams locker room . It was a very long investigation in which he was not charged for anything from what I understand was because there was no clear evidence it was not consentual and it reeked of a set up from day one. Does Manfred do the same thing if this was a player with a clean image like say Kyle Hendricks , or is this more about it being an outspoken loose cannon like Bauer ? Hell , in my opinion since the end game was no charges and him not being found guilty of anything illegal , he should have been reinstated immediately and given back pay for the time missed and now they are trying to take away the 64 million he was to make in 2022 and 2023. He should win an appeal easily if it's an outside party. Bauer was getting paid up until the suspension. Manfred saved the Dodgers $64 million by suspending him for the remaining 2 years of his contract. The length of the suspension makes it appear that there was collusion between the Dodgers and Manfred.

Very interesting video with Bauer finally being able to tell his side of the story. MLB and the Dodgers could be looking at a lawsuit with the evidence that is now available.

Well, if they wrongly completely halted his career & he can prove it then you can count on it.. It's hard to calculate just how many millions that cost him on a long term deal. But I do say "IF" he can prove it.

As part of the lawsuit settlement, he gained the right to go public with it. It is damning stuff if true. It also sets up the media for defamation lawsuits which may be the reason it hasn't been widely reported. My wife is the one who heard about it and showed me the video.

That's wild , but really not a huge surprise that this was a money grab because there was info that came out early on this that she preys on athletes. Now he just finally was able to prove it to be true that he was totally set up. This is going to be interesting now . I hope the national media gives him the opportunity to tell and show the same story he just did in that video because the guy needs that to happen or else there will still be tons of people thinking what they have for the last 3 years. I hope that he gets doors to the majors to open back up for him now. I know even before this there were a lot of teams that didn't want to deal with him because of his personna so it might be a tough go for him . He should be filing lawsuits left and right.

Oh he will be filing numerous lawsuits, he is a strange duck but he is super intelligent.

That certainly is an eye opening video. Trevor is a whack job but no one deserves to be drug through the mud if indeed he was set up. I'm no judge and jury but the video raises plenty of doubt. This may get very interesting and although the lawsuits are dropped, I can see some charges being filed against her.

I don't think there is any question he was set up , he would not be coming out with this now when he is finally legally able to if it wasn't true and I pretty much said that from the beginning that it reeked of a set up but I didn't expect it to be so blatant or him to be totally inocent in it which it looks like he is . How or why this info could not be released is all legal bullshit that severly affected a guys playing career and bank account. I always thought he was a bit of a tool , but nobody deserves something like this. I hope a MLB team gives him another chance now.

Irreversible damage is a tough-ie
Anything think he stays in Japan to finish his career, or does he make it back to MLB?

If MLB has no proof of wrong-doing, keeping him out would be considered collusion. Whether or not he stays in Japan, I can see him applying for reinstatement just to screw with them.

Teams deciding not to show interest in a player doesn't equate to collusion, does it? You might be on to something there with the reinstatement lol

The NFL settled a collusion case with Kaepernick. With teams always needing pitching, it would be hard to believe all 30 teams wouldn't be somewhat interested in him. MLB's legal team is probably working overtime trying to figure out what to do. The smart thing for baseball to do would negotiate a settlement on back-pay and reinstate him. That puts the onus on Bauer to make a decision if he wants to return.

Well the NFL is a different animal . You can get charged with murder and still go on and play 12 more years and get MVP votes and make pro bowls .

MLB has a slight different approach. =P

he is damaged goods and even though he is clear of all wrong doing there is still the stigma behind it and he was not well liked prior to all of this in FO around the league.
I do think he will eventually find something on the open market, will be a more of a 1 year type incentive laden deal with a small market team as the large market teams will likely stay away as they won't want to deal with the Media.
I bet he returns to the Reds on a reasonable 1 year deal, it would be a good spot for both sides.
