At his rate, the Crapbirds will be playing like 20 doubleheader’s. Breaks my heart!

Speaking from a science perspective, I hope MLB is making all this testing information and contact tracing available to epidemiologists. All of the MLB is about as close to a controlled environment with controlled contact, but not "bubbled". Outbreaks, and how they became outbreaks, (if people tell the truth).
I have no sympathy for the teams with outbreaks, but the collateral damage to the other teams is unfair, if unavoidable. And if there starts to be infected team-to-unaffected team community spread, especially if some key player gets a SERIOUS case, you might see an opt-out epidemic.

Mark Saxon @markasaxon · 11m One key aspect to this is that the player who tested positive, I am told, and I am reiterating here, was with the team in Milwaukee. That means he flew with teammates and worked out with them Wednesday and Thursday. This is not trending well for the #STLCards

Cardinal reporter on MLB network kind of moaning about prior to tonite being postponed STL already had to play 55 games in 52 days and how tough that will be . Too fucking bad. Sounds like what the Cubs had to do down the stretch in 2018, with a full schedule prior to that. Only this is their own fault. Don't discount the possibility that they might do it again. We are talking about the Cardinals after all.

The additional positive tests brings the Cardinals’ total to nine players and seven staff members.

Additionally, an unidentified staff member tested positive for the virus. What makes this so bad is that the two players practiced with the rest of the team on Wednesday and Thursday. The Cardinals will need to be down another 7 days at least. It makes it impossible for them to make up all their games.

Sadly, if they go with the mentioned “winning percentage” to determine who makes the playoffs even if they can’t play the same number of games the Cards probably make it.. That sucks if it happens.

That sucks if it happens In that case it might be possible for the Cardinals to end up with the best winning percentage in the division, while finishing a number of games behind a division rival. That would open a can of worms. For example: W L PCT GB 27-13 .675 3.0 Cardinals 40-20 .667 -- Cubs

Now the Cardinals. Does anyone think the lesson has been learned YET? Just waiting for the next domino. I keep thinking some people just can't be that stupid, and they just keep on proving me wrong. Sigh.

Sigh. The stupidity started long before the season got underway. The commissioner, owners and players all deserve equal blame on screwing up this season. They had at least 3 months to work out the details on so many different issues and they failed miserably.

Per multiple sources: The Cardinals can not gather as a team to practice till at least Tuesday and maybe as long as Thursday. The 3 Game series with Pittsburgh will be postponed. Best case would be to resume on Thursday which would mean 55 games in 46 days.
