Dodgers up 5-2 on the Padres going to the bottom of the 8th in the MLB regular season open in Seoul South Korea. I caught the latter innings of the game. As has become expected the atmosphere in Korea was outstanding to witness. They do a great job with fan engagement and making the stadium always feel alive. Same in Japan. Always really special and I hope to attend a game in person some year. The ground ball that just randomly bust through Cronenworth’s glove was a complete anomaly. That was so bizarre to witness and should have been a sweet and easy routine double play to end the inning. Do the baseball gods really need to be throwing any favors the Dodgers’ way this year? 🤦♂️ Estrada was in to pitch the top half of the ninth and didn’t look particularly sharp. Game one of many, not trying to highlight anything specific about him. I wish we could have kept him. 😢 And damnit seeing Ohtani swing the bat in a non-Cubbie shade of blue makes me cringe. Maybe we were never really players for him, maybe he was using all non-Dodger teams as leverage. Maybe maybe whatever. I still wish he was a Cub.

Ohtani is going to have another monster season. Did they ultimately rule it an error? That sucks lol

You can just tell that the kid is 100% genuine & I don't believe he would risk doing anything to make people doubt him or even feel he did anything wrong.

Lorenzen signs with Rangers 1 year 4.5 with another possible 2.5 in incentives. I wouldn't have minded seeing him in blue for that. Would have been a nice insurance policy if Taillon's back is going to give him issues. Edit: I mean Cubbie blue of course.

Mets to sign JD Martinez. 1 year $12M lot of it deferred Mets will only pay $4.5MM of the salary this year. The remaining $7.5MM will be paid in $1.5MM annual installments between 2034-38.

Steve Cohn must be near the debt ratio limit that MLB has in place, is the only thing I can think of why they would defer money like like on a 1 year deal when he is supposed to have unlimited resources.

Baltimore just reassigned Holliday to minor league camp. That’s a bit of a shocker to me. That kid is ready. Let him grow and contribute at the bigs at this point.

I don't follow the orioles, but would like an explanation myself.

Not like he's looked bad this spring , hitting well over .300 and driving the ball. Love to hear this explanation But with the new rules , if he wins ROY doesn't he acrue a full season of service time no matter what date he's up ?

If it is service time, it's a gamble because the new rules state a player will gain a full year of service time no matter what date his clock is started if he finished 1st or 2nd in ROY , and nobody is ever a lock to win ROY but this kids chances are extremely good. I can live with a 31.5 K rate when its a 20 year old kid hitting well over .300 with a .900+ OPS Boras is his agent , I'm sure we will be hearing from him soon.
