Those fires seemed to have shocked everyone, warranted, but shocking. Jerry is loyal to a fault to his employees. He'll likely just hire another Sox buddy and the cycle will start again. Nightengale says assistant GM Getz will probably get the job , although some baseball guys are saying Mike Rizzo since his contract with the Nats expires , but I doubt that will happen and it will be like you said , another Sox buddy and repeat the same cycle . Rizzo I'm sure would want too much power for Jerry's liking and bringing back LaRussa clearly indicates he's not open to a drastic change and new direction. Yeah, but these moves are temporary right?

Back in 1988, Reinsdorf's White Sox threatened to move to St. Petersburg, FL where the Rays now play. Cub fan Gov. Thompson then convinced the Illinois legislature to approve financing for a new White Sox ballpark in Chicago. So, they stayed in Chicago. Now threats to move to Nashville, possibly to get Illinois to finance ballpark renovations or a new stadium.

WTF , the park isn't that old , it was built in 1991 and renovated in phases from 2001-2007 . It is the 7th oldest park , but still. they don't need a new park , they need a new owner

Something like that but Turner stadium was originally builf for the Olympics and was converted into a baseball stadium and people actually GO to their games, they are averaging 39.476 per game . What do the Sox need a new stadium for, they barely fill half of it , they average 21, 987 in a park that holds 40.615

Two women were injured by a bullet Friday night while sitting in the left field bleachers during the early innings of a White Sox home game. People article - this afternoonNearby fans did not hear a shot. There's uncertainty whether the bullet came from inside or outside the stadium. My guess is that it was from a gun aimed high into the air well outside the stadium, and then the bullet could have fallen back in a parabolic arc. It may have been shot during an incident that had nothing to do with the ballgame. It will be interesting to learn what police detectives eventually determine.

Ok, so maybe they do need a new stadium , a bullet proof one ! Isn't this the second time this has happened there ? I think when it first opened they found a couple bullet holes in the seats

I wonder how long until the rest of the"core" want out. The only one worth anything is Robert Jr, but I could actually see some or most seeking a trade.

Police Chief confirmed it happened inside the Stadium and it happened in the 4th inning. Police made the White Sox aware and the White Sox and police both made the decision to continue the game since it was NOT an active shooter incident and they did not want to cause mass confusion LOL
Someone was saying one of the women brought the gun in and it accidentally discharged striking both women.
Pure speculation and pure guessing here on my part, but I'm wonder if she's an off duty police officer and that's how she got the gun in. I say this, because, back in probably 2017 I went to the Bulls game with my best friend and his brother in law. His brother in law is a Chicago police detective and brought his gun in with him on his ankle. I had no idea he had it until we were sitting in our seats. We even went through the metal detectors and he showed security his badge and they waived him in with no metal detector scan. That's how he got in with his gun.

I would hope you are correct and that's the ONLY way a gun could pass the security gates. Unless the woman has a pacemaker or defibrillator , I have a defib and can't go the certain metal detectors so I have to get patted down.

Welp….. I guess it was a heavy set woman, hid the gun under her belly (fat) and set off the medal detectors 3 times. The wanded her and just let her in WOW the gun discharged and she was one of the wounded lol

Police are still looking for a volunteer to frisk her. One really has to wonder about the police investigation and ballclub comments. The police say they are rather confident the gun was fired from inside the stadium. They claim there was no altercation. Nearby fans were not aware of a shot or altercation. There is no report of a gun being recovered. The game was not delayed. Are the police or White Sox management trying to protect an individual or perhaps something about the security system?

I'm wondering if someone in her group took off with the gun so she didn't get in trouble. In the video you see a few people in that section leaving. Also, yesterday CPD ruled out that the bullet came from outside the stadium. He said it came from inside.

I'd imagine even with White Sox fans that if a gunshot is heard in your section a lot of people would get up and leave so that doesn't mean somebody bolted with the gun. There seems to be a lot they just aren't saying .
