The Rangers announced they’ve acquired Aroldis Chapman from the Royals. Left-hander Cole Ragans and outfield prospect Roni Cabrera are going back to Kansas City in return. Roni Cabrera ended up as an unanimous hall of famer in my current iteration of OOTP 24. Case closed. Royals won this trade.

Dodgers acquired RHP Tyson Miller from the Brewers for cash. Former Cubs prospect, it would not shock me if the Dodgers can turn him to a really good bullpen arm. He never lacked the talent.

I don't know why we gave up on him so quickly, he was never a high strikeout guy... but I guess his pitch/mix didn't compliment a pitch-to-contact style.

Cubs were still trying to contend in the first half of 2021 and in May Bote had the shoulder injury and placed him on the injured list and Cubs really needed to add another infielder (Sergio Alcantara) for depth at the big league club and Miller was just a victim of being one of the more expendable guys at the time. Miller was just a fringe prospect who now has been DFA twice since the Cubs, he got interesting upside potential as a bullpen arm but so far it only has been potential with underwhelming results.

Cardinals declared they will be sellers at the deadline with the intention of contending for 2024.
I am saying it now, they will get the #1 pick in the draft and will be a MLB ready and will be the next Ohtani

I am saying it now, they will get the #1 pick in the draft and will be a MLB ready and will be the next Ohtani Totally plausible because that would be typical Cardinals BS voodoo magic at play, but I did read earlier that next year’s draft, at least at this very early projection, is considered a pretty weak one. I have no context or personal insight into that, instead it was just something I read in response to how the Nationals and their highest possible pick next lottery is capped due to the current lottery rules (the highest they can pick next year is 10). So if there ever was a time for the dead birds to get a top pick in the draft next year’s could be it. 🤷♂️

They will sell, but they aren't going to gut the team.

They are still one scary offense that can get hot quick..

Jonathan Schoop was released last night by the Tigers. He's owed more than 3 million and is expected to clear waivers.

They will probably sell , nothing major other than potential free agents and maybe O'Neal who they've had issues with and they will probably end up still on the win pace they are on or they might have a better record after calling up younger players who always seem to do well for them , atleast for a while. No way in hell they end up with the #1 pick

Regarding Ohtani:
"Today, Jon Morosi of MLB Network echoes that earlier reporting, taking to Threads to relay that the club will consider incoming trade scenarios, even though their bar for a trade remains incredibly high and a deal is still considered unlikely."

So the whole media saying Ohtani to the Yankees is pretty much a lock are full of shit? No way!! lol
