If we get Miller, Wood likely becomes the lefty specialist, IMO, and Cahill becomes the long man. That leaves Warren, Miller and Rondon to bring it home. Me likey!

I say get him. Get greedy and go for it. Having Strop, Miller, Rodon to end a game would be huge.

Wood is not a lefty specialist. He is our long man( if he isnt traded himself). Cahill is not our long man. Hes still having issues getting through singular innings. Think no further back than Hammels last start. I would have eatin my fingernails if Cahill had to pitch multiple innings.

I like Wood, I really do. He's a smart baseball player, a helluva athlete, and he knows how to play the game the right way.... My problem with Wood is he doesn't have an out pitch, to lefties or righties.

Theo has been nothing but honest with us. He is building this thing for sustained years of contention. Like anyone else I would cut off a finger for a WS win but I think we can get a few out of this if we do it right. Miller will cost us players, some might be MLB players. Hes also pretty expensive for an 8th inning guy. I want all the marbles this year but Im already thinking into next year also. I dont think the funds are going to be there yet next year to lock down the pieces we might want to keep for this window. I do think you really have to consider locking Fowler up for a few years. Hes been the catalyst to everything we do. Theres no one in our system that can replace that. I think he wants to be here but he wont give it away either. Our lucky stars that no one locked him up this year and he came back. We wont get that lucky again next year. Arrieta.......I know its a good debate but I think if we are looking at a nice 4-5 year window we will have to eat two years of an aging veteran down the road. No reason taking at step back and hoping to find a way to move forward here IMO.

Strop did not lock down the eighth today. A guy for the eighth would be good.

Tweet from Ken Rosenthal on Saturday night.
"#SFGiants have discussed internally a run at #Yankees' Miller. Perfect fit, but would SF part with top pitching prospect such as Beede?"
Wonder if an Andrew Miller resolution happens sooner rather than later. But if they want Beede from the Giants, means they will want someone like Contreras, Torres, or Almora from the Cubs. If that is the case then count me out immediately.

My problem with Wood is he doesn't have an out pitch, to lefties or righties. I can honestly say I've never quoted myself lol, but watching him go 0-2 to 3-2 in the 8th with the bases loaded and then giving up a hard line drive that found Zobrist only confirmed what I was thinking earlier today....
