And were on a roll ( again) with a third of the season gone were sitting well. Im over my nervous jitters now. Use to worry about can we come back, will the pen hold em down,Starting pitchers maybe being left in to long. No More. This club Truly has the ability to go all the way this year. No doubt about it. Picking up Ben has been the most solid pickup and seem to solidify the batting order even more, and he's versitile. Jason starting to come in his own as well. Had a rough start and that head in the wall thing surely looked horrendous. Mr Lackey has quietly been a pretty solid number 3, and i think he kinda pushes Lester a bit cause Jons pitching pretty well this year.
Overall i must say this team is solid from top to bottom. Of course there's always a few would like to haves, and if we do get one love it to be a LHR for the pen. Theo and Jed had a plan. They put it together well. The sophmore jinx doesn't seem to be there. In fact, the opposite. Maddonwas the only real choice for this club to lead it to its 1st WS title in a long time. As i sit back and type this i enjoy the Cubs, and know in my heart they won't disappoint. I beleive after all these years, long suffering ones us Cubs fans will finally see a WS trophy in Wrigley.....

there was nothing to worry about to start with. yes the Cubs will have another slump and I suggest that some poster don't go jumping off the deep end and make doom and gloom post/threads. Cubs are way to talented to have a major slump. they did this last year they went into a mini slump and they proven time and time again to bounce right back. I don't know how many times I have said this, but I will say it again, relax and enjoy the ride the Cubs are on.

there was nothing to worry about to start with. Respectfully i disagree. With Kyle getting hurt, Jason in a slump..there were concerns. This isnt a doom and gloom post. Just the opposite actually. But baseball being baseball we weathered a season ending injury, watch jason start hitting out of his slump. Cubs were never this deep in positional players and pitchers. Its a good thing. Will i enjoy the ride. Hell Yes. But I ll like the trophy even more.

I didn't say that this thread was a doom and gloom post. I meant next time the Cubs go into a mini slump that some posters shouldn't be all doom and gloom and make post/threads. slumps happen to all teams. I get it though, I don't like it as much as the next guy, but just remember it won't last long. I will respectfully disagree again that there was nothing to worry about. through Heyward's slump and losing Kyle Schwarber, the Cubs have the best record in all of baseball, it took a month into the season before we even lost 3 in a row, they have also have posted highest run differential and no team is even close to them in that category, this is all done without Schwarber and Heyward in a slump since the start of the season. Cubs pitching staff is one of the best in baseball. just imagine what this team would be like if they still had Schwarber and Heyward hitting like the Heyward we all know. I agree its a good thing and the ultimate goal is that trophy. just like the Cubs we fans just need to take one game at a time and enjoy all the victories we can and not worry about when they do go into a slump.

The best thing about this place is that there are no inquiring minds wanting to know anything, if ya know what I mean.....they go a little sideways and then snap off a streak....that's baseball. That's the CUBS!!!
I listened to an out of market radio station a few weeks ago, and those guys were raving about how Theo has done what he said he would do so far without being interfered with by ownership, and also gave raves to Ricketts for doing what he said he was going to do to improve the quality of Wrigley Field. The statement of transparency in management is true, however aren't ghosts mostly transparent? These guys ain't ghosts!!!
