I’m not familiar with the situation at all but I think it’s well beyond time to get the ASG back at Wrigley. Do what needs to be done in order to make it happen. Saw Wrigley is also a possible destination for the next NHL Winter Classic.

If you look at the nature of the attack at the Stade de France, there's no way a bunch of bollards in the streets would make a difference. Most of the damage was done by suicide bombers and shooters that left their cars to mow down people at popular locations. Wrigley Field would be a security nightmare. I won't miss not having the ASG there.

Geez, i didnt remember about an attack at the stadium somehow. 😔. I was an paris near the bataclan theater Charlie Hebdo bldg a week or two after the attack there. Walked over to a memorial site because it was nearby. Such a somber feeling time over there. The security After those attacks were in full force with well armed cops posted up on the street. Anyway, if wrigley is a security concern for holding the asb, I'd rather just pass or just go ahead and make big security upgrades to the area. This may finally answer the question of why wrigley hasnt hosted in ages. Are the Cubs finally gonna squeeze a dollar out of chicago for the upgrades, or have they now set the precedent of paying for things themselves?

So they mentioned adding bollards to block certain areas from traffic flow during games as a safety upgrade. Im sure it would take more than that.

I've been on the Wrigley tour several times, and they always cited lack of room for the media, not to mention the incredibly small visiting team locker room. In 1990 the media spilled over to the side of the main booth, which would eliminate further seats for fans.
But the league reply makes sense. For anyone that went to the 2016 WS parade, there were garbage and dump trucks all around Grant and Millenium Park to keep a vehicle from causing mass destruction inside. But it also made for an extremely difficult movement in and out of the park.
It's a shame it hasn't been back since 1990. I remember the hype being so big for that, still have the hat somewhere. It's incredible looking back that Sandberg won the HR Derby with a mere 3 homers. Wind blowing in killed those guys.

If the solution was as simple as adding a bunch of bollards around the park I feel like that would have already been done with how much Ricketts seemingly wants an ASG at Wrigley.
Feel like it’s more than that we aren’t being told. I always felt the weather played a big factor on why Wrigley hasn’t been selected. The weather is wildly unpredictable especially in July and with Wrigley location in the city. The derby is the main draw of AS weekend I feel like the league wouldn’t want to risk there being torrential down pour or heavy winds blowing in during that event.
