Dodgers LOL. I know this will probably sound dumb , but it I think it might be more frustrating as a fan to see my team go through multiple 100 win seasons with the leagues highest payroll most of those seasons and not win world series than it is to miss the playoffs. Sorry but I still don't really count 2020 and I honestly would feel the same way had the Cubs won just shows once again that spending all that money doesn't mean winning. look how loaded Padres are and missed the playoffs. Cubs had 2 high priced players when they won it all. rest were somewhat known and others not.

Dammit, Braves won. Fell asleep with Phillies up 4-3. Hopefully Phils can still wrap it up at home.
At least the Dodgers lost again.

The odds Harris making that catch was very slim and if Harris does not make that catch then Harper scores to tie the game. He did the right move. 85% of the time Harper scores, that play was just amazing. Maybe stand at 2b and wait and than score if not caught? But in real time, at that moment, don't see a problem with Harper's bae running. Just a great play by Harris and good throw by Riley. I think if Harper did that he only gets to 3rd. base so I think he probably thought that was his chance. Hard to fault that.

I really like quite a few of the guys on the Phillies but I really do not like that organization at all & their fans are the worst. I like the Braves Org. so a bit torn on who to root for.

I was also rooting for the Phillies last season and they just fell short. Although I would be ok with Texas as a good friend of mine grew up in Texas, so I would be good with them winning, as well. We were both rooting for Texas in 2011…well, you know. Another reason to hate the Red Turds.

The odds Harris making that catch was very slim and if Harris does not make that catch then Harper scores to tie the game. He did the right move. 85% of the time Harper scores, that play was just amazing. 1) That catch is made probably half the time. It was a nice catch, but NOT a once in a lifetime catch. The dude actually started slowing down. EDIT: 45%www.mlb.com/news/examining-michael-harris-ii-s-game-ending-double-play#:~:text=He%20made%20a%20hell%20of,wall%20to%20make%20the%20catch. 2) You absolutely CANNOT gamble that the ball would be dropped. You're risking the whole game (And maybe, the Season) on a chance that the dude will drop the ball. Besides Seiya, how many times do Major Leaguers drop a ball? 3) You cannot go 35 feet past 2nd base and have all your momentum going towards 3rd (Turning your back on the play and accelerating after touching 2nd base), w/o even knowing if the ball is caught. That leaves yourself practically zero chance of retuning. 4) What if he misses it? Nobody knows what would have happened, after the ball and player hit the wall and Harper was 10 feet closer to 2nd, with proper balance. Which is where he should have been. Harper was so far past 2nd, that the ball went past 2 cut-off men and still... 5) Lol at the thought that the 2nd cut-off man intentionally let the ball skip past him. Lol.

I don't believe that catch is made 1/2 the time but even if it is 25% you are probably correct that you really can't commit to it falling like Harper and in looking back on it, to be assured of getting back to 1st. in time he might have had to stop right on 2nd. base which almost certainly would not allowed him to score if Harris had missed it. I say that because the guy backing him up was in great position for the bounce off the wall to throw it to the infield by the time Harper ran his 70 feet to third & the other 90 to home. Then again Bryce had about 1 second to make the decision so I still can't fault him for taking the risk and he made it back to where it was a bang-bang play to just nab him.

As a baserunner you're taught to go just past 2nd at most, generally stay with one foot on the bag so you can get back or break to go forward. Just like in the Wild Card series Harper just decided he was going to do his own thing and let emotion and aggressiveness get the best of him. He gambled on the play not being made and it cost them dearly.

1) That catch is made probably half the time. It was a nice catch, but NOT a once in a lifetime catch. The dude actually started slowing down and measured. EDIT: 45%www.mlb.com/news/examining-michael-harris-ii-s-game-ending-double-play#:~:text=He%20made%20a%20hell%20of,wall%20to%20make%20the%20catch. 2) You absolutely CANNOT gamble that the ball would be dropped. All he had to do was slow down, as he was rounding 2nd. Slow down, under control and go about 10-15 feet past the bag. Instead, he went full speed around 2nd. Went 30 feet past the bag. Slammed on the brakes. Fell to 1 hand. Regained his posture. Re-started his momentum back toward 2nd and... Was barely thrown out at 1st. If he didn't do EVERTHING wrong, as he went past 2nd, he would have made it back safely. Again, if he's just 15 feet off 2nd and the ball is dropped... You have no idea how or where the ball would have ricocheted (it probably would have hit the Centerfielder) or if the RF could have thrown Bryce Harper out, from 370 feet away, with a relay. And even if Harper would have been held up... It's 2nd & 3rd - 1 out... vs GAME OVER.

Gamble the ball would be dropped ? Off the bat it looked like it was going to be more than likely over the CF's head and off the wall and he would be picking it up off the ground. I don't think a drop came into anyones mind, especially Harper. If he's gambling on a drop then he's likely stopping near 2b , I think all the way he thought that ball was going to be banging off the wall.

He did wrong. It doesn't matter what it looked like to you, off the bat. The CF was measuring the ball. The analyst on MLB said the same. Hell, even Bryce Harper (Mr. Ego) said, "Maybe I should have done it differently". That should tell you all you need to know. Harper took it upon himself to risk it all. And that decision cost his team the game. Phillies lose. That's it.

Doesn’t look good for the Orioles. Down 6-0 to Texas. This could be their season.

Baltimore wins 101 games….then 3 and out. Too bad for them, if it was pre-1969, they would be in World Series.

I understand your position, I just won't make the judgement that he was 100% in the wrong although I couldn't win that argument if I had to. I tend to think that losing the game had more to do with the HR that Wheeler gave up to D'Arnaud on that first pitch in the 7th. with 1 out AND the HR that Hoffman gave up to Riley on the curveball (when he was clearly overmatched with his fastball). THAT cost them the game or at a minimum put them in position to lose it..
