Thought it seemed appropriate to start a thread for ddevonb. He was a great poster and a big part of this board. Thanks for everything, ddevonb. I'll never forget his "tastes like chicken" avatar. You'll be missed.

RIP devon. The website and his posts are missed. I always gave his thoughts on the minors a lot of weight, as he was very knowledgeable.

I always dug the optimism from him as well about our minor leaguers. Yall are right about knowledgable - always learned so from much from the cubbiesfever family, and he was a big one. IIRC, he was always providing the low down on new prospect signings and what to know about them.

Devon was the best kind of critical of the Henry ::shivers:: era of drafting.
Last post: October 16, 2021 - Hoyer says Cubs to be really active in free agency Seegar, Stroman and Gausman would be good fits and really upgrade this team.

I remember ddevonb posting he was moving from Colorado to Wisconsin, ( to be with family? ), as he was having health issues, ( major surgery, maybe cancer? ). I didn't know he has been gone for over a year. He was a very good poster. Belated best wishes to his family and friends.

I haven’t been around enough over the years to remember their posts that well or know them beyond the username, but I do recall them from the old boards. I would’ve been around 11-12 when those boards shut down and there were certain posters I recall always really looking up to for their supreme knowledge of the Cubs and baseball. Ddevonb was one of them.

One of the GOAT from the old message board and always a class act who provided us with a lot of insight on the minors.
