My list: In no certain order...
1. Swap Russell and Heyward in the order and tell Heyward whatever he worked on in the offseason with his swing to forget it.
2. Trade to get Rodney back. Lol. I'm a fan, what can I say. Strop scares me. Rondon has struggled but he doesn't scare me. Warren and Rondon are solid. Rodney could be the seventh innings guy. Maybe Nathan can, who knows.
3. Trade for Rich Hill. A top of the rotation arm at a fraction of the price trade wise. How hasn't this guy failed a piss test? Note: obviously if you can get a young, cost-controlled TOR pitcher at a reasonable price then you go that direction but I just don't think you can right now. The DBacks really screwed everyone.
4. Swap David Ross' and Miguel Montero's playing time. Montero is a good framer but that's about it. Ross is better overall. Which, leads me to...
5. Trade Montero, bring up Contrares, convince Ross to play one more season or make sure he's on the coaching staff next season.
6. Unpopular strategy but I keep running Soler out there until its past the point where he gain regain enough trade value for the deadline then put him on the first Greyhound to Des Moines.
7. Get another left handed reliever.

Rondon has struggled? He has a freaking 1.24 era and .56 WHIP and is perfect in save opportunities. I just don't know what this guy has to do to get any respect. Have a 0.00 era for the year. This goes back to last year when everyone wanted to replace him the entire year even though he had some of the best numbers for closers.
Other than that I like your list lol.

I meant in his last two outings. He's slumping like the offense. It happens. He doesn't scare me going forward. He will have bad outings but will get it done 90+% of the time. Strop on the other hand is like playing Russian roulette with five bullets in a six-shooter.

Get another left handed reliever. 1. Heyward is starting to improve, once he is back hitting, he's an ideal 2. Also, Russell is better lower in the lineup to knock players in. 2. Definitely need to work on the pen, not sure about Rodney though. I might give Strop a little more time to fix things. He was pretty good last season and for the most part has been good this season, just a few bad outings. 3. Not interested in this, as I said in the other thread. Our current rotation is fine. The reason I would want a young pitcher is to replace Lackey once his deal is up or they decide to trade Hammel. 4. I agree with this, Ross has been on fire both defensively and offensively. 5. Not sure if Contreras is ready behind the plate, obviously he is offensively. 6. Now that the weather has finally started to warm up, sure. Besides Baez is starting to slow down at the plate. 7. Yep, agree here. DFA Richards and maybe Wood has some trade value as a #5 starter. So for my own, if I was management, this season I would currently be working on a deal to try and bring a future TOR pitcher in. It would be okay if he was a year out of the majors, but no more. I would be feeling out the market for Travis Wood, seeing what I can get in return for him. Maybe a lefty specialist, although it seems odd to trade lefty for lefty. Obviously working on a deal with Arrieta, with a deadline of the next offseason. I think things like trading Montero and Soler can really wait until the offseason. Actually with Ross retiring, the Cubs might want to keep Montero. Although if Contreras truly is ready, I would start him and want a veteran back up much like Ross to help guide him. I would even see if Ross would like a coaching role with the team.

1) Heyward's career splits say this is not out of the norm for him, but I'm not against dropping him down the the 6th spot for now 2) Rondon's struggled? He hasn't had great outings in no save situations, but maybe more consistent work will help. No thanks on Rodney. 3) ease up on the Rich Hill and top of the rotation pitcher stuff, yeah he's been very good over his last 13 starts, that doesn't make him a TOR. He's also a guy who has had extreme ups and extreme downs in the past , so I'm a little hesitant to be fully convinced he's figured it all out and is now a pitcher who's going to post up ERA's in the 2's. 4and 5 ) I wouldn't mind Ross getting more playing time and your plan is fine with me 6) Soler needs to play more, be it here or in Iowa, he's not going to be effective starting 2 games a week. 7) this should clearly be #1
