How would they know what pitch is coming? Have they " hacked " into the pitch com already? There was talk about the Blue Jays pitcher tipping his pitches in a way that could only be seen from the dugout. If that was the case, then I don't see a problem. We'll probably never know. Didn't the Assholes claim that Darvish was tipping his pitches, when the where really banging on trash cans to signal what pitch was coming? Or some form there of? Tipping pitches and relaying it to the batter is as old as baseball. The Jays might just being super touchy here.

Rumor I caught somewhere that Clint Frazier may be in Chicago and expected in the White Sox lineup today against the Royals. He’s been hitting well in AAA.
Mets come to town tomorrow just as their offense has woken up. Their young bats in Baty and Alvarez have been hitting well and Alonso has woken up to what I believe is now his league leading 17th home run. Good news though is they have a double header today and are trotting both Scherzer and Verlander out for it. So at least we miss them.

I guess the name change wasn't working?

don't celebrate to early. hard to tell if catcher tagged the batter, but home plate ump was right there and ruled a safe call. a horrible way to lose a championship game.

Might be time to start paying a little bit of attention to Jose Abreu to see if he’s turning a corner.
June: .327/.346/.571/.917 Last 7: .400/.419/.767/.1.186
It’s a small sample that isn’t enough to overcome an atrocious first two months of the season, but he’s turned it on at an important time for the Astros who, after missing Altuve and Brantley for significant time, are now without Alvarez for the next month plus. One more slash for Abreu worth noting is with RISP: .275/.346/.464/.810
He has work to do but he’s showing up now when they really need him.

Tatis Jr with a historic performance last night: 1 HR, 2 2B, BB, 2 R, 2 SB, 1 RBI, 2 OF assists. I have no idea how they keep track of this stuff but apparently that’s the first time we’ve seen a stat line like that since 1901.
Padres offense is really clicking now, averaging over 5 runs per game in June. Think they really just needed to get their big guys all back and healthy and they’d take off. There’s no reason to think they won’t be buyers at the deadline, specifically for starting pitching. A big question stands though of what they have to offer as their farm system is mostly gutted.
And in another series of note, Luis Arraez went 0-for-12 in a 3 game set against Seattle. That lowered his average from .397 all the way down to .378. Really doubt we’ll ever see a .400 batting average again, just so difficult to maintain and so taxing when you have even the slightest bad mini stretch like that.

Baltimore gets a win tonight after losing the series to the Cubs - against the Rays. Go figure..

Brutal call in the Rangers @ White Sox game tonight. Tied 6-6 in the bottom of the 8th, Elvis Andrus is thrown out at the plate to end the inning. Play is challenged and umpires overturn it, saying the catcher was blocking the runner’s path. Trying to find a good clip of it, but it is an absolutely brutally incorrect call that I can’t fathom how they came to that conclusion after having unlimited time to review. Edit: I guess right from the MLB homepage will do. What do you all think of this call? www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-beat-rangers-after-home-plate-collision-violation

I see at least front half of home plate. plenty of space for runners hands to touch and be safe, but was tagged out before hand could touch.

Reds are an offensive juggernaut right now. I can see why they've won 11 in a row even with not great starting pitching. Not a recipe for success in playoffs, but could win them a mediocre division. Elly is impressive.

Elly is impressive. Yes he is very much so. He has a double, triple, and home run tonight and just needs a single for the cycle. This is a very exciting team and good for them. They have been mediocre for awhile now. Those fans are really pumped up.

Domingo Germán of Yankees pitches a perfect game Good for him. I saw he has had issues both on and off the field so on a personal level, good that he had a bright spot. Rizzo had a nice defensive play in the 5th. Not to detract from German's game but it was against the lowly A's. They need to move to Vegas like yesterday just to get a fresh start.

Rizzo had ball on last out sent Cubs to world series. had the ball on last out when Cubs won world series. now he had ball on last out of a perfect game. they said that Domingo Germán's uncle past away 2 days ago then he pitches a perfect game.
