no surprise, Braves have fired manager Fredi Gonzalez. Braves are 9-28, 2-17 at home

It's always weird when managers get fired when having the worst roster in the league. Might have been "better" to fire him whenever their roster was pretty good and under performing

I heard that upper management set up a meeting with Fredi to tell him he was fired, but before that happened the airlines sent him an automated message about his flight back to Atlanta while the team was still in Pittsburgh. Oops.

It's the new version of the tomahawk chop. Instead of using it against their opponents they use it for firing personnel.
My how the mighty have fallen in Atlanta.
Go Cubs !

Fredi got jobbed by the Braves. Why do you assemble one of the worst teams in recent history and then fire your manager in May? I get that the manager of a tank-mode team rarely makes it through the rebuilding process, but it is silly to fire a guy mid-season when the team has no possibility of winning under any manager.
I think it is just disrespectful to Fredi and gains nothing for the Braves organization.
