As long as that is what it is ...... a gap closer and them not trying to throw something else in , this should get done. They were saying on MLB network what opened this back up was a LOT of players were saying they were OK with all the other stuff. So if they league moves even a little on the gaps this should get done for sure. I can't see them rejecting this or we might be looking at no baseball season at all. MLBPA set up their last offer in an attempt to meet in the middle, if the owners bit we got baseball. The gaps were so small on the CBT that it should not be hard to just compromise and meet in the middle at this point. And the bonus pool , they already got 40 when they were asking for 75 and had nothing prior , so it seems already getting more than half way there was already a win.

If this gets settled today and they plan on opening camps Saturday , tomorrow is going to be insane with transactions.

I know what you are saying but not picking until the 3rd. round with where the Cubs finished last year would be huge no matter where they stand - but yes, getting both of those guys instantly would lessen the impact. No way that happens in reality but man.. That would be awesome & I think put the Cubs up there as a contender. Not what I was saying. I meant deciding to sign Correa, you don't really even consider it also includes losing the pick and money, you are spending 300+ million, the draft pick is a 2nd thought. Deciding to sign Nick or Conforto , losing the pick could very well be a deciding factor to sign them or not. I really don't know how serious the Cubs are on Correa , but I believe if the QO pick does get dropped I would be surprised to see the Cubs not sign one of Conforto or Castellanos. I was thinking you were saying that if the Cubs signed Correa and lost their first pick in the draft that they wouldn't really care about losing the 7th. pick in the draft..

No , and aren't the top 10 picks protected? So if the Cubs did sign him or any QO free agent I'm pretty sure they would have lost their 2nd rounder and not 1st. I was saying in general teams including the Cubs would not decide to not sign him over losing a pick. Teams however might decide not to sign Nick or Conforto because of losing a pick.

I was wondering if there was any protection so if they wouldn't lose the pick until the 2nd. round then I absolutely agree & yes, it would come into consideration with lower salary guys like Nick & especially Conforto because I believe he will sign for much less money than Nick. At least he should in my book anyway.

MLB new propsal:
CBT is the same BUT added $2 million on the final year Bonus pool now $50 million Increase in final year of minimum salary
Union source said is sounds promising and heading for a vote, but now added dropping the 2018 lawsuit filed in 2018 (marlins, Pirates and A's) as part of the deal.
Deadline is 3PM eastern time to accept, if they do the lockout will instantly be lifted and chaos will begin.
So maybe less than a hour away from baseball madness.

I assume expanded rosters are part of this if they are talking about April 7th.
March 11-17 Camps Open Must report by the March 13th. March 18 - April 5 ST Games April 7- Brewers at Cubs
Pitchers might be up to 70 pitches by then
I assume the Reds series will be put to the extra 3 days of the season. The Cubs will have to make-up the 2 games with the Cards.

Some players saying CBT is still too low. You fucking kidding me ! Rumors: Lindor and Scherzer are pushing the union to reject due to the new CBT tier that only effects their team. But this is from Jon heyman who is a borderline hack.

Fuck them , think about others not just yourselves and your fat ass bank accounts. Do they realize this affects towns where teams spring train which rely on spring training for a LOT of their cities annual income. It's not just about the fucking Mets.

Union executive board which consists of 8 players is against it , they are taking player votes in which 2/3 need to approve to have it pass.

Right , but a lot of players/people in general will go with that your "leaders" recommend. This is not good. If they don't pass this over the CBT and how few teams it really affects, especially the new tier of fines, this is a complete joke and I totally take the owners side.
