Any guesses how many Cubs will be on the team? Jake, Lester, Dexter, Bryant maybe, Strop, Rondon. Extras Rizzo, Zorbist. I say 8.

Five is not beyond the realm of possibility, though. Jake will likely be the starting pitcher for the NL and Rizzo will probably start at first, IMO, as Goldy is having a really down year so far. Dexter is a shoo-in if he keeps this up, and Rondon possibly goes as a reliever. I could see Lester getting a nod if someone is unable to participate. Likely 4 Cubs, possibly 5.

Rizzo, jake, lester are shoe insurance if they continue their good play. Rondon may not be given enough chances to make it. The outfield is crowded in the nl but right now dexter is in imo. He has to continue hid pace you make it. Hammel will have you continue his early pace to make it, which he probably wont. Zobrist has a shot too if he keeps it up. Ross has a dark horse chance. Bryant has to up hid power to get in. I also say five cubs get in but nine have a shot.

after the dirst voting, Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell, Bryant and Fowler are leading at their positions.. While they don't deserve it, Heyward and Soler are also in the top 6 for OF. You also have to assume Arrieta gets in and Hammel has a really good shot.

Zobrist, Bryant and Fowler are well deserving.
Rizzo and Russell need to pick it up to be all-star worthy.
Pitchers
Arrieta is a lock at the moment.
Rondon, Lester and Hammell are making great cases themselves.

It SHOULD be Arrieta, Fowler, and Zobrist starting at their spots. Followed by Bryzzo off the bench. Rizzo should be the starter but I bet that award will go to Goldy. Itll be hard for Bryant to start unless he gets real hot and Arenado gets cold. Heck Zobrist might get bumped for Murphy which I guess is debatable. Arrieta will probably not start either with Kershaw having the year he is, but I think he has earned the start.

Hammel is in as of now and hendricks has a chance to bee in too. Now, four starters won't get in its just kinda crazy that they have four all star caliber pitchers thus far and then lackey is still only 3.16

Call me the contrarian but I'm hoping for 4-5, no more. When KC had like seven position players in the lead late in voting last year, it felt fake. No more than 2 pitchers (please) even though you could make an argument for half the staff. Funny thing is, I think Russell has been worthy. Great glove, lots of RBI for his spot in lineup, and he's also the top position player on our Hero thread. But it won't surprise me if he stays home.

I think the bigger question is will Jake or Kershaw be the NL starting pitcher? Jake deserves it, but my guess is Terry Collins will pick Kershaw.

Any other year he should be the 2b starter. Murphy is having a much better year for the Nats and he should be the 2b starter.

Jon Lester is now campaigning for fans to vote for David Ross to the all-star game, saying to get the most underrated catcher in baseball to San Diego where he belongs.
The way Ross has been playing on both sides, he actually has a legit shot, but Molina and Posey of course way more deserving, but teams usually like to carry 3 catchers and Ross as a decent chance if that happens.

I have been voting for Ross daily. He legitimately deserves it based on his defensive stats. He is also having a pretty good year at the plate.
