Bryzo , Right, its on the league for not doing more about it. And I have no problem at all with players doing what they feel they need to do to send a message and throwing at or hitting batters is fine for these circumstances. But sorry man, a World series trophy and ring is not worth a life. When you hit a guy 97 in the head, that could end a career or life. If Bregman moved backwards instead of the way he did it could have been ugly. and remember the hitter has a fraction of a second to react so he could have easily done that. Yes their cheating ended some careers and thats unfortunate but under no circumstances do you throw near the head. I keep watching the video and I just don't see Kelly throwing "at" Bregmans head. Even with the stat cast it shows the ball just below his shoulder. It's up and I don't agree with the location but I don't think he was intentionally throwing at his head.

I dont think he was TRYING to hit him in the head. I have NO doubt that was a message pitch though. My point is when you throw up that high you have no idea at all where the hitter will go. What is the reaction time on 97 ?

There is nothing worse than a fake tough pitcher who gets to throw at someone's head with absolutely no possibility of natural consequences for the their cowardly actions. Except for cheaters who know what pitch is coming all year and then get caught and don't have to face any consequences for their cowardly actions. But yeah, I get your point. That's why batters storm the pitcher sometimes.

Pitchers have thrown at peoples heads for far less than what the Astros did.
That being said, can we just keep beaning them from the chest down instead?

Just because its been done in the past doesnt make it right. Pitchers in the past would also top out low 90's.
Like I mentioned Carlos Zambrano was bat shit crazy and when he wanted to hit guys he did in the thigh. ribs, lower back etc . I have no issues with that.

Lance McCullers calling Kelly unproffesional and basically saying he was out of line because Kelly wasnt a part of the Dodgers team then.
Dont they get it ?
All of baseball hates them , not just the ones they robbed of a ring.

Reason for 8 games , throwing near the head and taunting to encite benches emptying. Also noted he had previously been suspended.
Kelly will appeal. Roberts serving the 1 game tonite.

Lol, good breakdown. Im happy Houston is getting treatment like this. But Kelly acted like a 5 year old and for some reason his actions annoyed me.

The only good thing of having games without the audience is that now we can clearly hear what the players are saying lol.

I know they are trying to police throwing near the head and that is a good thing. And Kelly has been suspended before for doing it. But to me it is kind of wrong to suspend a guy when he did not even get thrown out of the game. Hell. he was not even warned until after he did it to Correa too.

Joe Kelly buzzed a 3-0 97mph fastball over and behind Bregman's head. Then a couple batters later threw a curveball over Correa's head and ended up striking him out and as he walked off the mound they were chirping at each other and Kelly made a face like a haha sticking his tongue out and then stuck his lower lip out like a baby gesture and then benches emptied but no shoving or punches. Now I am all for teams targeting the Astroles and I cant stand Bregman's smugness. but you dont throw 97 behind a guys head. And another thought it kind of pisses me off Houston wont have to deal with fans razzing them on the road this season. Truth be told, the Astros should have just stayed on the bench. They were caught. They know it. They deserve what they get.

There will be more teams and pitchers taking shots at the Astros and rightfully so. The league did nothing to the players (now for the message board correction police, I am fully aware that the players were given a pardon by the league) and the other players have to take it upon themselves to take care of punishment. Then add in the fact of how damn arrogant many of the Astros are about it and it makes these guys even more pissed.
