I just hope he can pick up where he left off when he gets back. Sucks to see a guy having sustained success for the first time in the bigs have to go on the DL. Even if it's just 15 days, let's hope there are no long term effects.

Remember when the Cardinals could call up any "random Scrub" and they'd excel? Looks like the tables have turned in that regard. So far.

he started his rehab at Tenn yesterday..went 0-1 with a walk.. Good enough, call him up and send Solar and Fedowritz down. If they DFA Fedowritz I'm pretty sure he'll be picked up by somebody immediately. At some point they are going to have to bite the bullet and just let it happen. He's clearly not an everyday starter but he is a good backup catcher and provides good depth in Iowa if they can find a way to get him back there.

I don't know that they will try & send Fedo down because they probably would lose him.. Maybe.

He's not an everyday starter but he is a good backup. Again though I don't think they're going to have any choice but to bite the bullet and see what happens at some point

They have to have a plan in place to replace him if they try to send Feds through waivers. I'm sure they are working on that as we type.

I agree with that but I also think, to a lesser degree, they have a situation just like they did last year with Castillo. Every team knows the position that they are in. Federowitz is valuable to the Cubs because Montero is getting older and a possible dl stint could be in the future again this year. Unless Contreras gets his shot. Then again they were in a bad situation last year when they had a call up schwarber and I think that went pretty well. Well that is until this years injury anyhow.

It's similar in a way, but on a lesser scale. There are types of ways they can find a guy similar to him besides trading for it. There may be guys just hanging around that wouldn't mind being that guy for a team that may be in the playoffs.
