Hope he's ready to go on 4/5/16 but if not, it's not the end of the world. Save him for Arizona if need be.
I wouldn't actually mind seeing Hammel work the second game of the Angels series which would put him on track to pitch wrigley's opener and get two home starts that first homestand
Lester - Hammel - Jake - lackey - Hendricks - Lester on the road trip would suit me fine.

In a weird way, I kinda like that Lester could start opening day. I think Lester will do really well this year. He's no longer "the contract" now that Heyward is here. His bff Lackey is aboard. The pickoff stuff is old news and was not the disaster people predicted. Arrieta takes a ton of pressure off of him to be "an Ace".
I think he can just relax and pitch. And, I think he will. Let's see.

I'm good with Jake going whenever that thumb's ready. I don't think the ceremonial "Opening Day Starter" title is all that important to him. Just want to make sure Lester stays in the Angels series so we can utilize the DH with him starting. Any time we don't have to have him and Ross as 2/9 of the batting order is a definite advantage.

While I do agree. It would be really nice for Jake to come out and throw up a shutout in game 1 and set the tone for the rest of the year.

I just want Jake to be 100%. If that means he doesn't pitch until the DBacks series, so be it.

Interesting to see Hammel 3 and Lackey 4. Ultimately it doesn't matter because both spots pitch in the same series, at least through April

I know this may not be the correct thread for this, but has anyone heard about Fowler? I hope it isn't the dreaded oblique.

I'm not seeing anything that says Hammel before Lackey.
