Horton 3.1 IP (FO has him on pitch limit), 58 pitches 40 for strikes 1 ER was a solo HR. 3H 1BB 3K 1.59 ERA on the year FO babied Horton and others to the extreme last year. Hope they are saving his bullets for end of the season tournament where about 40 percent of the league makes it.

I wonder what Brennan Davis would bring in a trade for some pen help? Not that I am giving up on the guy but he's had multiple setbacks, plus so many other prospects have leapfrogged him that at this point his 40-man roster spot probably could be better used elsewhere. It is almost a disservice to him not to let him have a fresh start on a team where he gets a better shot.

It’s been difficult to imagine him having any future with the Cubs big league team really since early last season and I agree, his 40man roster spot feels very much underutilized. I wonder if a team like Washington would be interested on a dice roll like Davis. They have plenty of needs in a very difficult division and don’t expect to compete for some time. Kyle Finnegan stands out as an interesting target for us. He has two years of control remaining, has been a very good reliever since he entered the league in 2020, and is off to a fine start converting 7 of 8 saves on the young season. Davis plus another player for Finnegan? I’d say yes please all day long.

You pretty much can't trade him at this point unless you want to almost give him away. 1. becuase you'd be selling low , nobody is giving you anything for him right now because of his injury history. 2. he's going to have to remain healthy for the rest of the season for another team to take the gamble on him , so until he does that Best bet would be if he's healthy the remainder of the season to move him in the off season , trading him right now isn't going to get you bullpen help. Call the WSox, they need bats and they seem to gravitate towards guys who like to live chunks of their seasons in the trainers room.

Hope they are saving his bullets for end of the season tournament where about 40 percent of the league makes it. I have feeling they will call him up in July and use him out of the bullpen to keep his innings down and will find his way closing games down the stretch as he has that "Bring it" Bulldog mentality so he is going to want it and force his way into it. The FO can keep his innings limited while getting MLB experience and next spring pencil him into the rotation full time, while I would want him to start this year but I cannot see FO letting him go more than 100 - 115 IP pitched this year.

"Every at-bat for Jefferson Rojas last year also came against a pitcher older than him. All but 1 at-bat in 2022 was against a pitcher older than him. For his career: 99.79% of his at-bats have come against an older pitcher"
