I know not everybody checks the minor league thread but something pretty incredible happened last night in the organization that everybody should be aware of and I doubt it's ever happened in baseball before , if it has , it's would be surprising.
The Cubs and the top 4 minor league teams AAA, AA, A+ , A almost all scored 10 runs in a game last night with only South Bend coming up short with 9 runs.

Maybe shoot an email/tweet or whatever to JD and Boog about this. The Cubs researchers can dive into it and maybe come up with one of those “most organizational runs since 1952” infographs they love to show during the games. Not that it makes it any less impressive, but SB failing to reach double digits makes that Infograph write itself just a little less. No “first time in baseball history where all levels of an organization reached double digit runs.” But very cool!

I didn't have a thread to post this info so I'm using this one but I was looking at our teams non pitcher starters & thought that the Cubs had to be leading the world in bWAR with starters but then remembered the Braves so I added it up.. Cubs starters now - 21.1 & Braves starters 23.4. Then again you can do worse that getting edged out by the Braves, potentially the best MLB team in years..

Something else amazing last night in the 2nd game of a DH in which South Bend lost , their pitchers starting with Ferris striking out 9 in 3.1 innings , struck out 17 of the 18 outs they recorded. I would have loved to see how many they would have ended up with if it was a 9 inning game and not 7 in which they only faced the opposing bats 6 innings because they didn't need the bottom of the 7th at bats.
