It's after the All-Star break, and still not a peep about when this will actually happen?

It's after the All-Star break, and still not a peep about when this will actually happen? They have a few days left. Might be tweaking things to be sure it works when it's rolled out.
I would hate to see Boog and JD doing Max Headroom twitches, ya know?

they announced the roll out, $19.99 per month which is actually lesser than other teams that started doing have been charging.

Will it have the same restrictions and blackouts? If so, how is it an improvement for us fans?

Will it have the same restrictions and blackouts? If so, how is it an improvement for us fans? It's only for in-market areas. Areas where the Cubs are blacked out on mlb.tv.
If you live in an area where the Cubs are not blacked out, then you won't gain anything with this service (not sure you can even purchase it). You have to get the Cubs games through mlb.tv.
Presumably if you are a Cubs fan living in Chicago or any of the other zip codes that the Cubs call home territory, you can pay this $20/mo and stream the Cubs games. You don't have to have a cable/satellite/live streaming TV package to get it.

I am so tired of freaking blackout rules. I plan to retire in a couple years and I want to watch the Cubs every day. Whether it be my provider, MLB, Marquee streaming, I don't care. Somebody guarantee I'll be able to see the games and you can have my money. C'mon, MLB, I am the perfect customer! I am eager to buy your product. It can't be this difficult.

As far as I know, if you live in a zip code that the Chicago Cubs call home (the IP address from where you are connecting from), then if you subscribe to this Marquee Sports OTT offering, then you will get all of the Cubs games that are on Marquee Sports with no blackout restrictions.
Presumably even if you live an in area where the Cubs, Cardinals, Twins, and Brewers call home - you'd still get the Marquee Sports broadcast should the Cubs be playing any of those teams.
This OTT service will be (presumably) beneficial to those that live in Iowa or downstate Illinois, where Marquee Sports may not be carried by their local cable operator despite being in the designated home territory of the Chicago Cubs. Those individuals SHOULD be able to purchase this Marquee Sports OTT service and get the Cubs games.
The only games you won't get are the ones that are exclusive to Peacock, Apple TV, ESPN, Fox, and MLB Network (and any others I may have left out). Those platforms pay for exclusive rights to those games (MLB Network's is a little murky, sometimes they have exclusive rights, but other times they're just re-transmitting one of the team's broadcasts and in those instances you would still get the feed from Marquee Sports). Marquee Sports can't broadcast (nor can the other team) when a national platform has paid for exclusive rights.
If you live outside of the Chicago Cubs designated home territory, this OTT service won't help you. You'll still have to pay for mlb.tv and be subjected to blackout rules when the Cubs play a team that overlaps with your current location and the designated home territory of the other team.

$20 a month doesn't seem so bad. Essentially .75 cents a game to watch the Cubs. I'll take it.
