You would think by just dumb luck we could hold a lead for a few innings one of these games.I have never seen anything like this in my 45+ years of watching baseball

Well as I said earlier, after today, the Cubs get a reprieve from losing for a few days. Agreed. Hard to imagine a scenario playing out where they win a game right now. Doesn't matter who is pitching or who is hitting. What can go wrong, WILL go wrong. They call that Murphy's law but might need to rename it Maddon's law.

It's like there is someone on the inside giving information to the opposition that's how wild this is

There have to be some stats out there that Kamka can dig up because I'd be surprised if this hasn't been historic in some way. If the Cubs are lucky enough to grab a lead (and today, they were very lucky with Cutch and Freese dropping balls), that lead is gone almost immediately. Seems like this has been going on for 10+ games which doesn't even seem real.

Nice job Willy. It's weird because it seems like the offense has been able to keep up with the horrid pitching for the first few innings of ball games. They are fighting. But after 4 or 5 innings on consistently giving up runs, no offense is going to be able to keep up.
Sucks for Russell there. Should have been an RBI single.

That could have ended Niese's career though.

Unreal man they are just in a streak where everything is happening. That ball was smoked That was a bad break but don't forget about 3 huge breaks given to the Cubs by the Pirates defense so far. Could easily be 3-0 Pirates. Then again, I'm not sure if Lackey would have given up all those runs had the Cubs not taken the lead... OK so the positive spin on the Cubs not taking the lead there is that there is no lead to blow in the next half inning haha. Can the Cubs hold onto a tie for 3 outs?

Cubs shouldn't feel too bad. Pirates were kicking everybody's ass coming into this series, and the Cubs were getting beat by everybody, so this is series really hasn't been a big surprise.

any bets on Lackey giving that run right back? Boom! I could not type fast enough. 4-3 Pirates.
The pitchers have to be paid off, that is the only thing that makes sense. All the pitchers cannot be horrible at the same time and instantly give up leads every single game.

My anger has turned to me just laughing as this happens over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. I sit with my thumb on the "last" button on my remote so that I can immediately switch the channel before the ball reaches the seats. I'm at a loss for words like we all are. This is just unbelievable.
