My guess is that they'd want way too much, probably well over $700.00..

Dumbass , lets become the all time most losses in a season Champion , and THEN decide to sell the team.
Hell the Tribune was smart and let Hendry spend money they knew they weren't going to have to foot the bill for to get the team good before the sale , or was that Zell , or where they one and the same , my memory is becoming shit.
This clown runs it into the ground with a record setting team that's payroll was still 131 million with the pathetic roster and now he FINALLY decides to sell.

A work colleague once introduced me to Reinsdorf. Jerry smiled and pushed forward his hand for a shake. Then my colleague mentioned that I'm a big Cub fan. Jerry's smile disappeared and his hand went limp.

MLB has a real mess on their hands between WSOX Rays and A’s. I would not rule out contraction to 28 teams.

My bet the A’s eventually make Sacramento their permanent home after Vegas falls through, Rays are getting a new stadium in a couple years which will help them a ton and Sox just need a fresh start with new ownership

The Rays stadium has not gotten final approval best case will be ready in 2028 it will cost estimated $100M to fix Tampa’s current stadium.

I think it's against MLB rules to hate a team that you own..

I believe Sox are locked into their lease at Guaranteed Rate until 2028, so they probably won't move before then. I could see Cuban making an offer. He is a big baseball fan.

Might be getting confused with football.
He also said recently he sold off the Mavs so that his family would never have to deal with the mess when he's gone. But some people you just can't keep away...

I thought I read the reason he sold his majority stake was because he did not want to leave it to his kids (his kids are older and have no interest in inheriting the team). That being said, I doubt he'd want to buy a baseball team.

IIRC Cuban was interested in buying the Cubs. Seems right up his alley.
Either way, no shortage of billionaires out there who'd consider the purchase. I wonder most about whether or not the team stays in Chicago.

Another reason for the Cubs to get their shit together. An owner who will make smart decisions and build the WSox into a winner will not reflect well on the Cubs and their underachieving.
