Watching the Iowa game last night, they mentioned Mervis to IL with posible broke hammate bone in hand. Bummer. What a year.

Seems a little overly cautious on Shaw assuming he isn’t injured. Does he really need such a long rest before an assumed bump to Iowa following their break? What are the chances we’d be involved in trade discussions with some team with his name thrown around? I don’t like it, I’d much rather see him at 3B in Chicago (assuming he can field the position, which I have no opinion on) or 2B over Hoerner. But regardless of the speculation it just seems a long time to sit with no news. Then again it is the Cubs who love to hide any and all injury word for whatever reason. |

I’d give it close to zero chance he’s being traded, likely just nursing a slight injury of some kind. |

He can , he's always been good at that , but that's about all he's good at , and hey ........he can pitch and his career ERA in 11 games would fit right in with the Cubs bullpen 9.31 |

Strumph's HR was a Bottom of the Ninth, 1st Pitch Walk-Off.
It came off of former iCub, Tyler Duffey.
This was the iCubs 29th One Run Game. They lead the League in 1 Run Games.
5 Outs for Riley Martin, coming down the stretch.
5 Outs - 5 Strikeouts.
The winner of the game was Daniel Palencia.
Palencia came on, in the top of the 9th, with the go-ahead runner at 2nd.

The Smokies' comeback was the largest comeback victory for the Smokies, this Season. A 7 Run 7th, did the trick. Heroes in the Inning included Felix Stevens, who belted a 2 Run, game-tying Triple, that bounced in front of the "400" Sign. Stevens is no Palooka. He actually got to 3rd, before Pinango scored. Stevens' July slash is now... (wait for it) .600 / .571 / 1.350 / 1.921That's pretty funny. ↑Newcomer, William Simoneit (Catcher) followed with a smoked Liner, for the lead. Haydn McGeary led off the Inning with a lined Single & then smashed a scorching Liner, the other way, that went to the Wall for a 2 Run Double (The 6th & 7th Runs of the Inning). The Smokies have now won 7 Games in a row. 5 straight, vs the hated Lookouts & 2 vs the 1st Half Champs, Birmingham. Tennessee (8-3) is now tied for the 2nd Half Division Lead.  The Smokies 48-31 (.608) overall record is the best in the League. For the 3rd Year in row, Tennessee leads the Southern League in Home Runs.
