Baseball America drops their top 100 , not as much love as BBP who had 9 Cubs , BBA has 5
#18 Pete Crow Armstrong #24 Cade Horton #31 Matt Shaw #43 Mike Busch #47 Owen Caissie
Alcantara and Ballesteros in the 101-115 range. Wicks, Rojas, Brown & Canario also received at least 1 vote for the top 100 list but didn’t place high enough for the 115
edit .......actually the love is on par or better than BBP because BBA has them with all 5 in the top 50 , BBP had 3 in the top 5

Shaw from being drafted last summer to already #21 by BBP and #31 by BBA , pretty damn impressive.

He was just 19 when called up but signed a minors deal at 16.

No minor league time and he won ROY Never looked up his numbers before. Wow, retired at 30 after shoulder issues. Crazy I would have loved to see statcast numbers on him , from what I remember he used to hit the ball extremely hard and was on a HOF trajectory until he messed up his shoulder.

I remember the baseball broadcasters used to refer to the old Atlanta stadium as the launch pad with all the home runs hit there

I think the Cubs have a much lower opinion of Mervis.

Well so do scouts really , and the prospect guys , although he's ranked 6th among 1b , that really doesn't line up well with the numbers he's put up , a guy putting up numbers like that (like Busch) should be ranked higher than 6th among 1B and a no doubt top 100 guy . They know him better than we do and they might have the same opinion scouts did that he will have trouble with ML pitching , I would imagine they are trying to trade him.

Cassie hit so well last year, but a 30% k rate in AA doesn't look great. Can't wait to see another year on the kid and how he does. Is the plan for Cassie to begin the year at AAA?

I think so , he should/would have been in AAA towards the end of last season but the OF's were so crowded there was no room to call him up. Not too worried about his K rate when he posts a .399 OBP
