Breaking on MLB Network:
Harvey visited doctor today and will not pitch in tomorrow's ST. Opening Day in question...
undisclosed medical issue.
Could be nothing, could be something....

Not good news for the Mets. de Grom's velocity is down, Harvey may be hurt...
Syndergaard and Matz are good, but I wouldn't like to be relying on them for the bulk of my teams innings pitched.

IMO the Mets don't have the horsepower to overcome both Harvey and deGrom being sidelined. They better hope neither is seriously injured.

I bet both will be fine, but De Grom velocity issues more concerning than anything.

de Grom is still getting it done even though his velocity is down, though.
1.62 ERA, .900 WHIP, 15K, 2 BB in 16 IP.

True, we will see what he does during the season but both should be fine, if not then the Mets season is in serious danger but you can say that about any team that losses their #1 and #2 starter.

The Mets are going to have to rely heavily on their pitching, too. Their offense isn't doing them any favors and will be almost completely depended on Yoenis Cespedes and Michael Conforto.

Everybody talks as if the Mets rotation is unbeatable... but when they are depending on 4 guys who have had TJ surgery, getting all 4 through the season healthy seems an unlikely proposition.

I wouldnt discount Wright if he stays healthy. Heard they are going to give him enough rest to hopefully keep him upright for the long haul. When Wright plays, he can play.

Yeah, relying on pitching is a dicy proposition. We should know... That's why the Cubs have 4 experienced starters in the bullpen. Does any other team have that?

How so very true. Offense might be offensive for the Mets this year. IF their pitching staff does get hit by injuries, I think washington will eat em alive....( havent had dinner yet lol )

The Mets starting staff is looking a bit thin these days.
