Love- Pat Hughes, Ron Coomer, Chip Caray, Steve Stone, Vin Scully, Bob Uecker, Jon Miller, Hollandsworth, Brian Anderson, Steve Lyons. Hate- McCarver, Hawk, any Brennamen, A-Roid, Bob Costas, Al Hrabosky, Mike Shannon. I actually think a-roid is a solid announcer. His baseball knowledge is thru the roof. I miss seeing him annoyed af with pete rose on those broadcasts. I thought he was awesome on the pre and post game show during the World Series. But between talking about the Yankees for 30 minutes on the broadcasts they are not even playing and a lot of the other meaningless crap he discusses, I think he's awful in game. Probably better suited when he has a short window and can only talk about baseball, not Matt Carpenter's salsa for 45 minutes. I don't remember a single thing about Pete Rose on Fox except him saying, 'Schwarbie' non stop.

I despise A-Rod as a person, I think he's a complete phony, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't like him in the booth giving some analysis. He's got good information and a good delivery along with experience to back it up. That said, there have been reports over the years that it's not all his information, I believe he's got a person or two whose entire job is to feed him some of the info he repeats on air, which is why sometimes he butchers some names.

He is good pre and post game. In game when he just needs to analyse baseball which may lead to what you are saying about him being fed info , but he does know the game and it's nuances .Annoying to listen to in game.

Listen to all the other MLB TV broadcast teams and then get back to me on your criticism of Pat Hughes.

Some of my fondest childhood memories of baseball is coming home from school to catch the game on radio. Vince Lloyd and Lou Boudreau(sp) still ring true to me. I have a vinyl record of the greatest moments in Cubs history. The final year they talk about on it is 1970. Priceless

Listen to all the other MLB TV broadcast teams and then get back to me on your criticism of Pat Hughes. I have. Like I mentioned I always watch at least one of the opposing teams broadcasts each series and have for a few years ever since I subscribed to MLBTV. Pat is great , and a true pro who paints a picture on radio that not many can. I just don't listen to the eadio broadcasts often and he's just not what I personally like in a broadcaster. I want a little entertainment in my broadcasts in the banter thats exchanged, I know the game and whats happening can be seen with my eyes so I really don't need people to tell me just about what is happening. I just find him a little boring and his home run call is very lame. I'm not saying I can't stand to listen to him , he's just not got enough personality for what I like.

Vince was good, but for some reason I could not stand Lou and I can't really remember why.

I framed the newspaper clipping with Pat's quote from game 7 and hung it on my Cubs WS section of my man cave. "A little bouncer slowly toward Bryant, he will glove it, throw to Rizzo...it's in time! And the Chicago Cubs win the World Series! The Cubs come pouring out of the dugout! Jumping up and down like a bunch of delirious 10 year olds! The Cubs have done it! The longest drought in the history of baseball is over, and the celebration begins!"

But come on , drives one in the air , this ones got a chaaaaaaaaaaaaance , gone . When the ball is smoked 450 feet , the "this ones got a chance" is about as bad as Harry making the call ...... there is a drive, way back , it might be , it is .........10 seconds after the ball already landed.

I never liked any "signature HR call." My least favorite is Chris Berman and his "back,back,back,back..." And sticking with the theme of this thread, I would put Chris at the very top of my list of broadcasters I love to hate. His schtick was entertaining....for about one season. Then it got old and has stayed old for decades. I don't like the HR derby anyway but Berman makes it unwatchable to me.

And let's not forget the incredibly irritating; "He...could...go...all...the...way!"

I loved him at first , something new and different , but man did that act get old real quick.

The no doubters he needs to use his get out the tape measure long gone. The ones where he's not sure of then yes use the this ball got a chance.
