Signs with the Rangers...
for now To a Rangers minor league contract. He supposedly wanted a release from a Cubs minor league contract to pursue a major league deal. What was that actually about? Dietrich - ESPNIt's the same thing he had with the Reds. No path to the majors, so he asked his way out. Why he signed with the Cubs and all their depth I have no idea.

Maybe to try & stick it to the Reds for not keeping him.

My guess, he took a gamble that Hoerner would fall flat on his face and Kipnis would have nothing left, but that is not the case, they are not blowing the league away or anything but they are holding their own.

Well Dietrich just had one heck of a debut with the Rangers last night. 3 hits, a HBP, a stolen base and scored twice in the come back win last night. Not too shabby

Amazing.. After 11 AB's he's hitting .362 with a .462 OBP & an OPS of 1.189. A HR & 3 RBI's - a 0.3 WAR No way in the world he can even remotely keep that up but it figures..
