Call me a cynic but I am hoping this last-minute decision wasn't a political ploy. Hopefully they were aware all along and have a plan.

My bet is Buffalo on the Canadian border and not far from Toronto. It's the home of the Blue Jays' AAA team whose season is cancelled, and a US city with no MLB team.
EDIT: I've learned that the stadium lights in Buffalo may not be up to MLB standards. As jerm42991 suggests, an alternative is the Jays' spring training site in Dunedin, but coronavirus concern is elevated in Florida.

Musco lighting can help. That's who the Iowa Hawkeyes use for Kinnick Stadium when they have night games

Now during the pandemic with so many people working at home or not at all, day games might even be bigger draws that night games for the Jays, as long as not many other teams are doing the same.

But no one is actually dying from it, as the death rate has went down for the 12th straight week to practically nothing. EDIT: oops I forgot about the Florida man who died in a motorcycle accident and they called it a covid-19 death. The virus must have darted out in front of him! Which data are you tracking? The 7-day average of deaths in FL almost doubled over the last two weeks (from 50 deaths to 100 deaths)! covidtracking.com/data/state/floridaI am not posting my opinion. But people have to stop posting misinformation! Thank you GCG. My reply would NOT have been very nice. Dunedin would be a VERY BAD idea right now. Of the five friends I have who live there, three have had Covid -- gotten from a service-related job and spread to family members, who ALSO are in service-related jobs. I am also VERY closely related to someone who has tested positive for Covid19 who has been sick for almost two weeks now. I know exactly how and where he got it, and I guarantee you that coming to our area right now is NOT a good idea. I like the Buffalo idea. Surely supplemental lighting can/will be arranged, but I think daytime scheduling is VERY do-able, after all, it's not like you're going to affect attendance at the games.

You can do a old fashion tape game and air it later that night if they are worried about viewers. Not as fun, but these type of challenges are going to be the normal this season.

Citi Field or Yankee Stadium are the two best choices. This was not some political ploy by the Canadian federal government. Canada's COVID-19 death, positive and case rates are well below the US's and they aim to keep it that way. The US is at 40 deaths/100,000 pop and Canada is at 24. I suppose someone will say, how can a few MLB players and staff visiting Toronto create an outbreak? I guess that the Canadians don't want to find out.

Yeah, technically any MLB teams field would work. Its not like there would be a lack of home field advantage without fans anywhere. The only problem is the scheduling conflict and you wouldn't want them bouncing around to different stadiums for their home games. I don't blame Canada for doing this. Its the smart move with as unpredictable as this thing is and our spiking rates.

I was actually in the Jays' AA stadium last summer for a night game and it wasn't terrible at all.

Also, there are a few other AAA stadiums nearby, Rochester, Syracuse, or even Pawtucket.

Rumor. Bluejays will play in Pittsburgh Only 7 games the Blue Jays and Pirates would be home at the same time and still in same time zone. Makes sense.
