Why? He goes through this literally every year Seems different to me. I hope I’m wrong He just needs to get into the swing of things. He'll be ok.

Jesse Rogers said today that the Cubs are not worried about Rizzo. They think he'll be fine by opening day. Heard Bruce Levine talk about it briefly this morning, he didn't sound concerned either. Sounds more precautionary.

I’m not worried about Rizzo. He’s Italian....he’s tough! He’ll be fine and ready to go by season opener.

Cubs: MRI on Rizzo confirmed rib inflammation on left side, leading to spasms in his lower back. Results were "as expected" and he'll be treated daily

Quick clip from Rizzo mid Cubs scrimmage. In the past with this he's gone from severe pain to nothing. At this point he's past the severe pain but not quite back to nothing yet. For whatever that is worth. They did show him walking through the field while guys were warming up and he was joking around and doing his usual thing, didn't look like a guy in pain.

HUH Rizzo stepped in to face Underwood during first live BP of the day. Saw six pitches. Tracked five and bunted one.

Hoyer says "it's unclear" on Rizzo's availability for Opening Day. Losing valuable Summer Camp at-bats and Cubs don't want to rush anything with 2 months of season looming.

Per Rizzo just now on ESPN 1000: I'll take BP today, if all goes well I'll play tomorrow and be ready to go Friday. I feel great and 100%.
