Mets SP Marcus Stroman has decided to opt out. This comes after completing his 2020 service time Smart man! Will be a free agent at the end of the year and does not want to ruin his free agent stock as he has nothing else to really gain at this point. Of course it has to happen to the Mets too, that franchise cannot catch a break but at the same time they really don't deserve one either as they make a ton of bad decisions at the same time.

Wasn't that plan floated quite a while ago by MLB & was shot down by the players union?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with them. I think they were going to stay down for the Pirates & Tigers series’s but probably activate 1 or both for the Twins series starting Monday.

Mets have a confirmed case on their team, game vs Marlins tonight is cancelled. Their game against Yankees on Friday has been postponed also. First case on one of the coasts so will be interesting if there are multiple players found to have it. It ain’t real if it’s not on one of the coasts..

Is there a better approach then postphoning 4-5 games when one player test postive? This is not substainable.

Is there a better approach then postphoning 4-5 games when one player test postive? This is not substainable. I really don't think there is. Thus far we've seen with a few of the teams that have come down with it that the first positive can just be the tip of the iceberg. I can't remember how Miami progressed, but with StL we saw how it was a small number at first, then it grew, and kept on growing. You have to assume a decent portion of the current Mets roster has been exposed, and you've got no idea who's going to come down with it. If you allow those players to play against other teams then you're exposing others and that's how this can snowball to the rest of the division.

I dont think its so much the one positive that does it, its the contact tracing and how far the trail of exposure could go. And they want at least 2 days of no new positives to pop up in a row before they move forward.
