spring training is right around corner. pitchers/catchers report tomorrow. think it be a good idea have a thread all about spring training. couple posters reported on Morrow and his situation.
here is notes coming from Hottovy, posted on twitter by Jordan Bastian.
• Sounds like 5th spot is Chatwood’s to lose
• Hope for building bullpen is that volume added can help overcome volatility of relievers
• Contreras will catch Yu more this spring
• 20+ pitchers have been in camp a week. More than 20 labs done already

Great thread to start Trav!
One more to add, Morrow had already thrown 4 bullpen sessions already at 3 days apart, so they are taking it easy on him which is expected but great to see him throwing without issue.

Morrow: I'm cautiously optimistic.
Willy jokingly reminded reporters he's been in the Cubs org for 11 years now (signed at 16).

Morrow said the problem last year was that the day after a bullpen session he could not lift his arm up to comb his hair. It took him 3-4 days to recover. I am still very pessimistic about Morrow.

Yep, all Cubs fans are cautously optimistic about Morrow too.
If Morrow does make it, I can see him being put on the 15 day IL a few times to keep him fresh throughout the season.

I think the fact that Marrow felt bad he didn’t pitch and came back to the cubs for the deal he did shows he is a good guy. I know I’ve been upset at his production but injuries happen and he seems like a stand up guy.

Back to 15 for pitchers due to teams like our very own Cubs at times use the 10 day IL for roster manipulation. Position players still 10. If this is not what you are talking about, then I need to go to bed

Last season had both volume and volatility, going to be hard to minimize the latter.

Per Patrick Mooney of the Athletic: Cubs are still active in trade discussion involving KB. Nothing is imminent or getting traction, word is Cub are feeling a sense of urgency to do something to improve the roster.

High praise from Theo regarding KB: I never worry about Kris. He knows how to handle himself in any situation. He thinks things through. Strong character. A terrific member of the organization. He cares about all the right things."

Per Bruce Levine just now on The Score: KB will be in camp by the end of the week. Don't expect the Cubs and KB to come to an agreement on an extension any time soon. Cubs will hold out until July or even the end of the season. Keep an eye on the injured list as well. One injury can shoot KB's value up a ton.
