I liked the uniforms and nicknames. I liked to see them become alternate road uniforms

Have to give a shoutout to the defunct XFL who started this idea way back in the day. I'm from Vegas so it reminds me of the Las Vegas Outlaws and HeHateMe haha. I love it, the hats are sweet too.

Lester and LaStella, really clever nicknames. The most Lester like thing he's ever done lol

I like most of the Cub alternate and older uniforms EXCEPT for the 05 uniforms that didn't put the names on the back of the jerseys for the entire season. One game or series would have been well long enough.

if it is successful, I hope MLB approves multiple players weekend. maybe like once a month. could do it at start of the season, before or after all star break, then towards end of the season.

Is that how new people are treated here? We have a whole thread dedicated to introductions, if you're inclined to transparency. I don't remember you on the old board years ago and am curious about how you've been posting for 22 years when the MLB service didn't start until this century. Get your start on a BBS in '95? I did but that kinda doesn't count. On topic, I think the unis are pretty cool. I would really laugh if Joe had SH#*H#&D on his back.

Fwiw. Omeletpants is a made up character from the old board who just showed up with that name this season. I'm not sure what names he's used prior to this name. He is obviously hiding his past identity. He talks opinionated and usually bad baseball.

i like it. anything that will raise visibility of the sport on a national level is a good thing (i guess). MLB has been lacking a good marketing/PR scheme for quite a while and this seems to improve upon that. I think the nicknames are kind of stupid honestly but I do like the that players get to get creative with bats and cleats. My only real knock on the players weekend thus far is the uniforms, why did they completely change the uniforms? I turned on the Royals game last night and wasn't sure if I was watching pro ball or college.

That's the point, they are meant to mimic little league jerseys. That's why the first game wearing them kicked off at Williamsport between the Cards and Buccos.

Stupid is the wrong word. MLB made a big deal about the nicknames and blew it out of proportion. One thing that I didn't like about the nicknames is watching teams that I was not familiar with and not knowing who was who. Maybe they should have kept the names on the back with the nickname below. I would like to see it go a bit further, let players design their batting helmets anyway they like, similar to hockey masks.

Even Morrow came up with a nickname.....surprising as this is the guy who refuses to dance in the bullpen.
