Hi everyone I'm Matthew. lifelong Cubs fan for over 15 years and good you find you folks. I posted for some time on MLB cubs.com but stopped posting because of all the trollish behavior and appears they shut it down anyway. As we head down the home stretch in this heated NL central, I look forward to conversing with you all as we approach the best part of baseball which is post season!

Hey Cubbie fans! I'm Tim a long time follower of the cubs.com forum under the same name. I didn't post much, just got my Cubs info and read people's opinions on Cubs related topics and tried to ignore the rest. I hope to engage more on here with all the non-baseball stuff and trashing each other gone. I've been a Cubs fan all my life living in the enemy's camp closer to St. Louis than Chicago. I look forward to being a part of this great group of Cubs fanatics!

My name Tim and I've been a Cubs fan since the 80's. I'm a bit confused since I could not find the original cubs.com message board. I was a long time poster who enjoyed talking baseball. I joined the Friendly Confines and the WrigleyField Refugees but it's not what I'm looking for. I feel like we really got "ripped off" as fans against the Dodgers. Quintana's last game really made me think about the whole trade deal. Can Lester, Hendricks and Quintana really be are core pitchers?? Lester is aging, Hendricks doesn't always have the goods and Quintana is erratic. Kris Byrant and Anthony Rizzo seemed more interested in doing commercials and chatting up opposing runners on base. Will Javy "the hot dog" Baez ever lay off the curve balls and is Russell mentally fit to play the game?? Addison Russell's off season issues seems to be glossed over. Domestic violence is a serious crime! Jake Arrietta? let him go!! He's not worth the huge contract he is demanding. Is Joe Maddon's job EVER in jeopardy? The rest of the coaching staff has been gutted. I get sick and tired of watching Joe Maddon's Binny's Beverage Depot commercials. As die hard of a Cub fan I am can you imagine if we played the Astros in the World Series. We would of been swept and embarrassed!!

The BP & a complete lack of hitting in our entire lineup was what caused our loss to the Dodgers. Our big 3 starters are in the top 5 in all of baseball in my opinion. Hendricks is a stud - period & Lester & Quintana are both capable of being 2,s on most all teams. Added injuries along with his issue impacted him greatly & I look for a big bounce-back. If he is guilty MLB will punish him greatly. Regarding Kris & Anthony, we are all very lucky to have them on our team. Slumps happen & the Dodgers pitching had quite a bit to do with that, not their commercials that they made early last year. They need a couple starters, some BP guys & a couple players to win the division again. Go Cubs!!

Oh dear. I may not fit in here because I tell "it like it is"? You really think Byrant and Rizzo hit like they should against the Dodgers? I can dig out the stats but I'm too lazy to find them. Ever since Kris Byrant got married his stats went down. I'm a bit old but did you ever hear the saying 'a happy wife is a happy life"? Slumps happen sound like an excuse. I'm on the Dodgers forum and, man, they really let their players have it!! Would you want yu Darvish on this team after his melt down?? And a far out rumor is Clayton Kershaw is going to be traded! Of course, only a big market team could afford him.

Watching the World Series really showed me how far off this Cubs team was. Not even close to the Astros nor the Dodgers. Letting the Dodgers win at Wrigley Field really "grinded my gears". My first Cubs memory as a child was that San Diego padres debacle that we lost in the playoffs. I can still picture my drunken father throwing the old school tube T.V. after that lost. It made me the fan that I am today though!
