White Sox in 11 games have scored 23 runs Cubs in same 11 games have scored 71 runs so when we are mad about the Cubs front office or Cubs team, just be happy we're not run like the team on the south side Or the Bulls!! Ugh!! My favorite BBall team is run by Reinsdork!!

To me it would be hard to be a fan of a team who's owner says his mangers performance is deserving of being fired but he doesn't want to pay multiple managers. That's when you need to sell the team , what's really the point of owning it when you have that kind of mentality.

Good thing the Cubs let the Dodgers swoop in and get Glasnow when the Cubs were supposedly close at one point , we couldn't have used him.
According to STATS, Glasnow became the first pitcher since at least 1988 when pitches were first tracked to accumulate 14 strikeouts in a start while throwing fewer than 90 pitches.
With the stellar outing, Glasnow improved to 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA, 2.77 FIP, 0.75 FIP and 10.9 strikeouts per nine through four starts this season.

They seemed to gamble on the Prof and a couple of others being on the last year of their contracts. That money as I posted before could have bought one more FA arm. But they were'nt swayed and thought the Prof had more in the tank than he has shown. Coupled with a faith in the farm brings you to this situation, not that it's terrible mind you.

I did not mind them bring Hendricks back , he looked pretty solid last season but despite the injury history I always wanted the Cubs to get Glasnow, he's a legit ace caliber when healthy. I would have liked to see them take the risk like LA did instead of be conservative.

I predicted that Boras was going to lose atleast 1 of his "Boras 4" and figured it would be Montgomery , so no surprise to me.

The Dodgers did have to take on a ton of salary in that deal (25 lil + 12 mil. but the Rays included 4 mil. in the deal) & had to give up 2 prospects, 1 of them just off the top 100 prospect list, a starting pitcher. The 25 mil for 2024 was an easy choice but the additional 4 year extension after that at 28 mil per year IS a risk with his injury history & probably more than the Cubs were willing to risk.

Too many hoops to jump through just to watch a baseball game. Not every game of course, but too many. Even though I have MLB.tv access, as I live out of state I had to resort to less scrupulous means for 4 of the first 6 games of the season due to blackout restrictions. MLB can’t be taken seriously with their viewership numbers or concerns about not growing the game while letting blackouts continue to run wild as they have/are.

It really isn't the national pastime anymore. The NFL is.

Apple (will eventually acquire Disney/Hulu, already has a partnership with MLB + MLS) + Google (YouTube) + Netflix will be the next generation's 3 channels. I can only assume WWE and UFC will cave to one of these outlets.
Over-the-tv is done. Even I watched a few final four games on Max instead of switching to rabbit ears.
What did Don Henley say? "500 channels and not a damn thing's on"

WOW, Marlins just optioned Max Meyer... Weathers is the only guy in their rotation actually performing well this year. Service time manipulation? UCL innings limit? Just bad optics for a 3-13 team. Glad we won't see him later this week!

Glad we won't see him later this week! He was only in the rotation because of the injuries and now with Cabrera back somebody had to go , but odd choice being him since he clearly looks ready./ I'd imagine they want to limit his innings this season since he's coming back from TJ but it's not like they'll need him later in the season for a playoff push.

This is the real kicker. They get the 2024 5th pick in what is considered a weaker class at the moment (and knowing their complete inability to develop talent makes it even worse) and then 10th at best next season. Sucks to suck.

Wow, that really does kick them when they're down. They would have been much better off to have the lottery gods slot a bunch of teams ahead of them this year. Next year they would have been a cinch to pick first or at least close to it. I guess sucking only gets you so far sometimes.
