You will forever be a Tommy apologist, that's ok, what ever floats your boat. No he's not Steve. You took the comment 100% out of context when you repost it stating that he was talking solely about the Cubs. Then again every other season the Cubs & many other MLB teams are basically printing money so I don't feel sorry for them one bit, nor should we.. Exacty, nobody here is feeling sorry for them , but I understood the comment for the situation the world was in , people who are in a business and used to raking in money who all of a sudden have it stop are logically and understandably going to panic and with Covid and the uncertain future there was a lot of that going around and not just in baseball . That doesn't mean I feel sorry for him . And my real point was he never said it just about himself and the Cubs and that seems to be misunderstood by a lot of people bigtime who keep alluding to him saying it solely about the Cubs like it was said here, totally out of place in a post about 2022 franchise values. People don't realize they still had to pay the players and all the other bills that involve running the team and the stadium etc and they were not getting any income other than what ads they were selling. Again , not feeling sorry for them , just understanding where he was coming from AT that point in the Covid situation and it's not something I think he should still endlessly be ripped apart about.

But for full disclosure I am a business owner (very minority stake) so I am not 100% unbiased in my opinion. Well I was, I am now semi-retired and very good at it..

I simply try to understand why things are done or not done , not just full out bitch and complain because it's not what I would like to see happen so I get labeled an apogist over it. Botton line and full truth , I would love Rickets to spend like Cohen , but I know it's not going to happen and I realize why , so why get all bent out of shape over it.
