Good news to report, that Brennen Davis has no limitations at this time and has been spending good amount of time at the Arizona complex this offseason too per Farm Director Jared Banner.

I saw something about him being ready to go for spring training and that he was golfing the other day, so I imagine (for now) the back is good.

Canario won't be ready to start the season. If he was it would of been an absolute miracle. I am hoping for mid to late June return.

Yeah, I assume wherever I read the info, it was to quell fans' hopes because he's in (or out of) a boot. The shoulder stuff should still be a worry. Apparently the shoulder stuff is what we're trying to fix on Bellinger.

So Davis had a back injury most of 2022, had surgery, came to find out is was something more genetic. The in the AFL he has a stress facture in his back. I'm sorry guys, ready or not for ST, I'm concerned about Davis. I understand they say he's fully healthy and won't have any limitations, but why did the Cubs hide his pulling from the AFL? Again, I'm concerned, but we'll see.

With Rivas waived, that leaves the door open for Bryce Ball in Iowa at 1B.

With Rivas waived, that leaves the door open for Bryce Ball in Iowa at 1B. Yeah, that was kind of the idea behind it. System is deep in talent now and last season that held some guys back from being promoted because there was no room. So now they are at the point of them not having to employ many roster filler type players like Rivas who they don't really see as potentially part of their future. I'm not saying Ball has a great future with them either, but he deserves the bump to AAA and he has shown some promise and could always be a piece in a trade

I wasn't talking about the major league level. Iowa basically had nobody worthy to start the season , but the guy who might fit being held back from the majors was Mervis and that was because of him not being on the 40 man , but he started in A ball and they even said would have been called up if he was on the 40 man. I was talking about the minors and there were several guys who could have been bumped up a level earlier than they did at times but they had to clear a spot on the higher level first to create a chain reaction , anybody closely following the minors knows this.

Ok because I thought the Cubs did good with MLB call ups last season.

MLB Pipeline did a survey all over the minors league at all levels and PCA was voted the best defensive player.
Also came in at #7 in most speed.

That's pretty damn amazing 39-4 and think about the amount of talent this organization will probably have after the trade deadline. And the number 7 pick should net us a pretty darn good prospect to add to the list. (Not to mention whatever top 5 or 10 pick we end up with next summer after the current miserable MLB season, our modest 3 game win streak notwithstanding.) A blast from the past. (Check out the names on the back of some of those jerseys). The 39-4 reference was to the overlapping streaks that All 4 of our Affiliates were on. Myrtle Beach went on to win their 1st Half. South Bend went on to win their Championship. Tennessee lost in the Southern League Finals. That #7 Pick turned out to be Cade Horton. The Pick we ended up with the following year (This year) was Matt Shaw. I hate to say we told you so... But, we told you so!

He keeps insisting we include him in our "Future Starting Pitching - Next up?" talk. I mean, if we're just talking about what they've done vs what they could be... August: 3 Games (2 QS) / 1.58 ERA / 17.1 IP / 19 K - 2 BB / 0.75 WHIP2022: 23 Games - 21 Starts: 2.66 ERA 2.51 Tennessee / 2.95 Iowa
96 Mph... 76 Mph Bump for fun.
