Crazy how fast a prospect can go from hero to zero. What's happened to him? Is it just a stretch of bad baseball, making adjustments, injury? What's the dealio?
and lawls at the foreshadowing
I went to the last week of Iowa cubs games. I believe he isnt fully back from his injury problems. He use to be a very good athlete and there was always a big deal about his neuro test which was off the charts. Meaning he had super fast hand eye reflexes. To me he looked really slow and just flat out lost. The one knock on him prior to the injury was breaking ball recognition. That is still an issue and now that whole series he could barely caught up to a 90mph fastball. So he was either fooled, late on, or would barely get a piece to foul a ball off. Im guessing he couldnt hit .200 in A ball right now.

I don't think he ever recovered from the genetic injury. It's unfortunate, he has a lot of talent. He's still young so maybe he can salvage an MLB career, but who knows.

Davis hit a HR against Neris. He says he's healthy now. Time to bump this thread!

The forgotten man. If he's healthy, this season is a now or never for him. Honestly I think he's already an afterthought for the Cubs since there are so many others knocking at the door. Hopefully he starts hot, if for no other reason than to be a trade chip at the deadline.

The plan for Davis is to keep him in AAA all year stay healthy and prove he can contribute in 2025.

Craig Counsell says the plan is to keep an eye on Davis all Spring and he will not make Opening Day roster, but gets consistent at bats at in minors and “do something special and make us think about what’s going on.” Best of Luck, Brennen!

Just gonna bump this thread... he's doing very well this week. Yes he is, 4 homers in the last 5 games and has his season OPS up over .900 Really pulling for this guy to stay healthy, maybe he will get his chance at his MLB debut soon.

I'm just glad he's back in AAA.... I can't seem him coming up any time soon, but who know. Keep raking and you'll force your way here.

Just stay healthy and just produce over a full season, at this point I see him more of a trade piece than part of the long term plans with the Cubs but that can change in a hurry.

That would be wonderful if he could come up - while Happ tends to that nasty toenail fungus issue he's probably got.

I disagree, I think the Cubs give him one more shot. Think about this, he's younger than Morel, Amaya and Busch and he and Canario are less than a year in age. Brennen is still considered young. Plus, Happ and Suzuki are only locked up for 2 more years, plus Belly can opt out. That's 3 of your starting outfielders than can all be gone after 2026. PCA will slide in to a spot and that's all the Cubs have pretty much right now that's a sure thing. Personally, I'm not moving Davis. He has no value IMO

If anything he's just a throw in or a sweeter in a deal. After his injuries his stock unfortunately has fallen significantly.
