"It appears you may not be off to a good start though. One of your very own selected mods is already trying to limit creativity and poster stylings. What's wrong with posting in third person? I see nothing wrong with that as long as all the guidelines you have established are met. I assume you want to have some fun here, and let posters "be themselves". This is in no way a slam on 20k, but, c'mon, let posters post in the manner they're accustomed." It was a joke. I know. I didn't take note of the smiley face originally. It's cool...........

I have added one
6. No carry over from the other forum. This will put you under target, re-igniting feuds. I am giving everyone a second chance, please do the same. If there are any problems, I would first suggest not posting to opposing poster. If problems persist, PM me or one of the mods.
Also, any questions about my moderation, PM(private message) me if you have any questions. I would actually encourage it. Please just keep it off the forum.

I think there may come a point where what is said over there doesn't impact what goes on here... but let's be honest - that place is/was such a habit for most of us that it's hard to separate the 2 to a degree.... not my call but if posters choose to be a jagbag about what happens here while posting over there... they shouldn't be welcome here. JMO.

Yep, the political threads are brutal. Yeah I understand that it's an election year and all but most of the political threads are filled with people who don't even talk baseball. To me that seems weird in a way. To each their own but for me anyhow that is a huge reason to make the switch. It's too bad that the other board is dying in a way but onward and upward. The reason you see so many posters on the Cubs' board making political posts without ever discussing baseball is because their political posts are made by sock-puppet accounts as to not hurt the "credibility" of their original screen name. TigerCubs and No1 are prime examples of sock-puppet accounts.

I would like to PM you. But I don't know how. Kindly advise. Thx.

Abbreviations should be limited to accepted baseball terms (HR, WHIP, etc.) as other usages makes a post difficult to read. And no "leet speak" either. An occasional abbreviation in a post is fine though.

Good to see some sensible moderators were chosen, and I second making excessive abbreviations and excessive use of third-person a bannable offense... Impersonating another member is a violation of the ToS.

First of all, I would like to welcome everyone to the board. I am going to keep things pretty simple and not try to over moderate the board. I just want a board that encourages baseball discussion and is fun. Here's the rules; 1. No religion or politics. 2. No multiple threads for one subject. You won't get banned, but I will delete them. 3. No personal attacks. Arguing baseball is fine and expected. But don't make it personal. 4. No trolling. 5. No stalk posting. If I see posters stalking and attacking certain posters they will be banned. 6. No carry over from the other forum. This will put you under target, re-igniting feuds. I am giving everyone a second chance, please do the same. If there are any problems, I would first suggest not posting to opposing poster. If problems persist, PM me or one of the mods. Quick question. I have mostly been reading what everyone posts & not making posts. On the other board when I read something & then went off & came back on & opened a thread, it would position me to the unread posts. On here, I am back to the beginning & have to find where I left off. Any way to correct that or do I just not understand it? Thank you in advance.

I 'am one of the oldest posters on the MLB site. I used to post a lot in the old days, but got very tired of just a few people controlling everyone else. I hope this site can reach a much better height and have Cub fans enjoy a very special season with their Cub brethren !

Ugh....
MODS: Is there any way to ignore posters on this board? I don't want to spend an entire season scrolling past a certain poster's public masturbation.

Bummer... being able to keep that poster on ignore was one of the few things that made the other board bearable. I like reading the baseball threads, and as soon as I saw his powder-blue post in any given thread, I knew the rest of the thread was probably worthless.
